Ans y= 4x+4

(A) \(y = 4x + 4\)
(B) \(y = 4x - 4\)

My logic is :
Since the line is upward sloping.. the slope will be positive, E is out

Also the line cuts the Y axis on the negative side , therefore c <0
Eqn from is y = mx + c

so now just B and C remain.. I took a guess then marked C

Yes, you are absolutely correct with your approach but you don't have to guess when you get down to B and C..

B is 4x-4=y..
So when y=0, 4x-4=0.....X=1
When x=0, y=-4
So y intercept should be at a distance of 4 times more than x-intercept, but figure is drawn to scale and it shows almost same..

C is y=x-6.
So when y=0, X=6
When x=0, y=-6
So y intercept should be at same distance from origin as x-intercept, and figure is drawn to scale and it also shows almost same..

Hi
That was a typo and y is negative.
y=x-6……(0,-6) and (6,0) => Both these points should be at equal distance from (0,0). Figure shows the line cutting x and y axis at almost similar distance from origin.
y=4x-4……(0,-4) and (1,0) => (0,-4) is 4 units away while (1,0) is 1 units away from the origin (9,9). But both these points should be at equal distance from (0,0) as the line is cutting x and y axis at almost similar distance from origin.

We can safely eliminate A and D on the basics of y-intercept being positive and also eliminate E for the slope being negative. Coming to B and C, we can see that the slope of B is 4 while that of C is 1. When slope is 1, the angle is 45 deg and if slope is above 1, the angle is above 45. Also since value of tan increases to infinity as the angle increases, it's safe to assume that value of the angle is not too large. So we can safely deduce that the angle is 45 degrees and hence slope is 1. IMO C

Ans: C - y=x-6

I used only visual parameters.
Since it is an increasing line, m = positive so Option E gets eliminated.

Between the rest, making sure that substituting x=0 gives a negative y. Option A and D get eliminated.

Between B and C
Diagram suggests that both x and y have near equal intercepts so Option B eliminated.

The simplest method to come to a quick verification from the figure we can come to the following conclusion
1)y- intercept should be negative
2)x-intercept should be positivve
3)slope should be positive
now let us check the options
(A) y=4x+4
yintercept is positive so out

(B) y=4x−4
This is really diffivult to eleminate i guess it is not drawn to the scale and the slope of picture


(C) y=x−6
This lays down all the conditions laid down


(D) y=x+12
y intercept positive

(E) y=−x−3
X intecept is negative
Hence IMO C
