A warehouse had a square floor with area 10,000 square meters. A rectangular addition was built along one entire side of the warehouse that increased the floor by one-half as much as the original floor. How many meters did the addition extend beyond the original building?

(A) 10
(B) 20
(C) 50
(D) 200
(E) 500
100 * 100 = 10,000

100 * 100 * 1.5 = 15,000

100 * 150 = 15,000

Originally it was 100 it incrased by one half so it means 150

150 - 100 = 50

Answer choicr C

Since Area of square is \(\sqrt{10,000}\) then side of square will \(100\)meters

So if area extended by \(\frac{1}{2}\)then \(100*\frac{1}{2}=50\)

area=10000
side=100
increased area=1/2 *10000=5000
so side
m * 100=5000
so c=50­
