\(\frac{1}{4}\) cup of milk required to make 5 cookies

\(\frac{1}{4}\) cup of milks = 5 cookies

1 cup of milk = 5*4= 20 cookies

3 gallons of milk= 3*16 = 48 cups of milk

As 1 cup of milk = 20 cookies

48 cups of milk = 20*48=960 cookies

(A) 820
(B) 880
(C) 900
(D) 920
(E) 960

Solution

    • 1 gallon = 16 cups ⟹ 3 gallons \(= 16*3\) cups \(= 48\) cups.
    • Now, \(\frac{1}{4}\) cups milk can be used to make 5 cookies.
\(⟹\) 1 cup milk can be used to make \(5*4\) cookies.
\(⟹\)48 cups milk can be used to make \(5*4*48 = 960\) cookies.
Thus, the correct answer is Option E.

960 is the answer

1/4 cup = 5 cookies
1 cup = 20 cookies

3 Gallons = 48 Cups

So 48 cup milk = 960 cookies
