AX = 5*BX
AB + BX = 5*BX
i.e. AB = 4*BX
but AB = (1/4) - (-1/2) = (1/4) + (2/4) = 3/4
i.e. BX = AB / 4 = 3/16

Co-ordinate of X = Coordinate of B + BX = (1/4)+(3/16) = 7/16

Answer: Option A

To find the difference between point A and point X on a number line, subtract the coordinates of point X from the coordinates of point A. This will give you the absolute value of the distance between the two points. If A is to the right of X, the difference will be positive; if A is to the left, the difference will be negative. To Solve for X:

Step 1: X - (-[1][/2]) = 5(X - [1][/4])

Step 2: X + [1][/2] = 5X - [5][/4]

Step 3: 8X + 4 = 40X - 10

Step 4: 32X = 14

Answer A = X = [14][/32] = [7][/16]

x - (-1/2) = 5(x - 1/4)
x + 1/2 = 5x - 5/4

1/2 + 5/4 = 4x -> multiple by 4
2 + 5 = 16x
7 = 16x
7/16 = x

Option A

Given:
D(A to X) = 5*D(B to X)....... Equ 1

Let B to X be y, then A to X will be = 3⁄4 +y

-1/2 to 1⁄4 it is 3⁄4
And from B to X is y

Substituting the value of distance between a to x in equ 1

3⁄4 + y = 5y
3⁄4 = 4y
Y = 3/16 – distance between B to X

Now point of Y is 1⁄4 + 3/16 = 28/64 = 7/16

7/16 is the point where X lies
