Answer is E.

1) Statement 1 gives no info, since it is a square and hence the sides are parallel, the line is transversal, hence a = b always (alternate interior angles).
Hence Statement 1 gives no info.

Not sufficient.

2) Statement 2 : it shows fixes P location , but M location is not fixed, hence the length MP is not fixed.

Not Sufficient.

Even after combining, we cant find the length MP as it is not fixed
Not sufficient.

In the diagram above what is the length of MP if LNOQ is a square with an area of 64?

(1) a - b = 0

(2) OP = OQ/2

Area of Square is given, from that we can find out the side a

Statement 1 : it is reduntant statement. As alternate angle between two parallel line are always equal.
this satement is not providing any constraint to end point of line MP.
This statement in itself is not sufficient.
Statement 2 : OP = OQ/2. this statement constraint one end point of Line MP , i.e P.
But other point M is free to move along the side of square.
So This statement is also insufficient.
As Statement 1 is reduntant statement and Statement 2 constraints only one point. Both Statement together also cannnot help in finding the Length of MP.
So answer is E
