We know:

Session 1: Noah more efficient
Session 2: Noah more efficient

So Noah had higher success rates in both sessions.

Yet both ended with the same total donations (24).
Key logic:
If Noah is more efficient in both sessions, he must have contacted fewer people overall to reach the same 24 donations.

So:
Maya contacted more people than Noah
Maya contacted more people than Noah

Answer: (C) Both statements together are sufficient

Statement (1): Noah had a higher success rate than Maya in the first session. But this tells us nothing about the total number of people contacted. Maya could have contacted far more people overall and still ended up with the same 24 donors. Insufficient.

Statement (2): Maya had a lower success rate than Noah in the second session. Again, this tells us about percentages in one session but nothing conclusive about total contacts. Insufficient.

Combining both statements: In session 1, Noah had a higher success rate than Maya. In session 2, Maya had a lower success rate than Noah. Both statements together are essentially saying the same directional thing — Noah had a better conversion rate than Maya in both sessions. Since Noah had a higher percentage success rate than Maya in every session, and yet both ended up persuading exactly the same number of people (24), Maya must have contacted more people in total to arrive at the same absolute result with a lower overall efficiency. —— sufficient

Let's take Maya contacted M numbers of people and Noah contacted N number of people
Goal: Is M > N?

Statement (1): In session 1, Noah's rate > Maya's rate.
  • No info on session 2. Insufficient.
Statement (2): In session 2, Noah's rate > Maya's rate.
  • No info on session 1. Insufficient.
Together:
Noah outperformed Maya in both sessions.
  • Noah's Overall Rate > Maya's Overall Rate
  • 24/N > 24/M
  • M>N
Answer: C (Both statements together are sufficient)

During a two-session fundraising campaign, Maya and Noah each contacted some number of potential donors. By the end of the campaign, each had persuaded exactly 24 of those people to make a donation. Did Maya contact more people than Noah?

(1) In the first session, Noah persuaded a greater percentage of the people he contacted than Maya did.
(2) In the second session, Maya persuaded a lower percentage of the people she contacted than Noah did.

I think that higher rate doesn't mean higher number of person contacted. What if Noah only contact 1 person each session so Noah 's rate is 100% when Maya may contact more than 100 people and only get 22 people agree to donate.

How is answer option E?

Maya seems to always contact more people than Noah?
They both end up persuading exactly 24 people.
I dont really see a situation where Maya ends up contacting fewer than Noah. Kindly check it out.
