Hi,
I am a 26 year old male from New York, NY. I graduated from Wesleyan University with a 3.4/4.0 GPA and majored in Economics, minored in History and received a certificate in International Relations. While at Wesleyan, I played four years of varsity baseball and was captain my senior year. I received All-Academic recognition both within my collegiate conference and at the national level. I am currently in my 2nd year at a large media company working in a corporate strategy and business development role. I am currently a senior analyst but will be promoted in the next month. Prior to joining the media company, I worked at an investment bank as a TMT analyst for 2 years. Outside of work, I spend time working with the Make-A-Wish organization and have granted two wishes on my own and am working on 3 others for this year. I also work with the BuildOn organization and have traveled to built two schools, one in Malawi and one in Nepal. I additionally spend time coaching and operating baseball workouts in my home town with middle and high school students.
I have taken the GMAT and scored a 710 (Q45/V42/IR 8/AWA 6). My current post-MBA plan is dependent on my summer internship. My goal would be to explore consulting while in school and make a decision between continuing with consulting after the internship or return to the media industry and work in a strategy group focused on diversifying the core business model to capitalize on new digital opportunities. Additionally, a post-MBA goal of mine would be to expand my role with the Make-A-Wish organization to help advance the work that the New York chapter is currently doing. At the moment, I am targeting Stanford GSB, Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School and Duke Fuqua School of Business.
Along with an overall review, I am also interested in getting feedback on whether it makes sense for me to take the GMAT again even if I haven't studied in a few months since my last test. Do you think that re-starting my test prep will be beneficial or do you think I should focus on my applications instead?
Thank you for the help!
