HEC Paris vs Cambridge Judge

Question

I'd welcome the forum's views on both these schools.

I've considered the obvious, e.g. length of programme, size, alumni network, etc.

I'm dual national British-French with a background in Finance, although not necessarily expecting to return to that sector post MBA.

What's your post MBA desired location? Paris vs. London will settle this. If you're looking int'l, Cambridge's clout increases exponentially the further you go from the UK, although it's not a school known for business. HEC is a strong name, but somewhat unknown outside of EU.

I'm likely to remain in the UK, although I would be open to working elsewhere in Europe if the right opportunity came up.

I'm interested in general management in industry, although could be tempted by consulting.

Judge is the best choice. its reputation and ranking are higher than HEC.

Judge's consulting projects are great experiences for GM and consulting careers, and the name should stick you on an interview list anywhere outside the UK and most places inside it.

How can people here say that Judge ranking is higher than HEC? This is really puzzling to me

This is a six year old discussion so things are a little bit different back then. Also, ATC is most known for its masters program rather than the MBA, build the business school has been growing its reputation as well.

Of course Cambridge judge is best known for its overall university name, Cambridge. At the same time, if you don’t know the rankings and I’m not part of the GMAT Club, you probably have not heard of HEC but quite likely have heard of Cambridge…. Or maybe that’s just me?

You are right on the Cambridge brand being certainly more well known (though HEC in France and francophone countries is also very well known)... I just check the rankings and it is incredible how HEC MBA has climbed the ranking in the last 10 years from some 30s/40s position to being in the top 10 (and even top 5 in some rankings)....

I am still deciding on 3 offers really... Waiting to see whether I get a scholarship. I plan to finalise my decision by next week. I opened a forum here ( https://gmatclub.com/forum/hec-vs-lbs-vs-judge-vs-imd-360398.html#p2798654 ) I will share more opinions/questions/decisions in there soon
