Hi,
I have admits from following schools - NUS, UT Austin and Kelley (Indiana University)
Profile: Indian, IT, tech industry.
Post MBA: Interested in consulting or program management roles in tech sector.
NUS- I sort of love this university. Close to home and ranked above 2 other schools mentioned above in recent FT rankings. Good brand recognition in Asia Pacific. but not so much in India. Good electives in Strategy and organization specialization focusing on tech and IT management and consulting.
Total cost: 66000 sgd + living expenses for 3 semesters (Around USD 70000 max)
But not sure how this benefits my post MBA goals in tech sector. The professor who interviewed me told me that MBA recruitment in tech scene and consulting is not that great is Singapore mostly due to the fact that Singapore is a small country and has limited jobs. But I love Singapore. And would love to work and live here.
UT Austin: Good for tech. Austin has lot of tech companies. Dedicated electives for tech and IT.
Con: not sure how placements are gonna look under Trump administration. Concerned about having to worry about things other than studies (Ex: Political scenario, H1B lottery)
Cost: $90k after scholarship.
Kelley: Same as above. But places well in consulting.
I do not mind returning to India after graduation (In case visa, economic and political situations are not in favor or i do not secure employment either in USA or Singapore). All that matters is that I should be able to secure a decent job in India.
Also, US schools are a little expensive than NUS. Around 20k USD more. Cost is a factor.
So, which MBA would be more valued in India? A Singapore MBA or US MBA?
I am interested in getting a good global exposure and best learning environment.
Please suggest which is the best University to go to?
