I hope everyone's MBA applications have gone well this cycle with plenty of acceptances. It's been quite the ride.
To provide a brief background on myself, I hold a BS Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from a well regarded state school. I'm currently located in the Boston area which is one of the world's top biopharma hubs. I have nearly five years of work experience within the biopharma industry spanning early research through late stage development/technical operations. This experience has primarily been on the science side of things and I'm looking to pivot to business/management roles. In terms of post-MBA career goals, I see myself either getting into biopharma strategic consulting or possibly biopharma venture capital/finance. Ultimately the goal is to get into executive level management positions.
Yesterday I heard back regarding the last programs I applied to. The decision is down to the Johnson MBA with a couple thousand in scholarships vs a Carroll MBA/MSF dual-degree with a full ride. They are both solid programs in their own regard and I'm excited with the options. Breaking down the numbers the return for Carroll is fantastic, especially in the short term (<10 years). That being said I'm trying to accurately assess the more intangible elements such as brand and networking opportunities. I think in this regard Johnson certainly looks like the better option.
It's a bit of a tough call since it literally comes down to T20/high debt vs T50/basically no debt. Any feedback would be appreciated!
Cheers.
