Hi All,
I got admitted to both Johnson and Tepper and now have to pick between the two.
Background: Canadian Engineer, 5 years in Automotive Product Development.
Goals: Tech or Consulting
Here is what I thought of so far..
Cornell
Ivy league
Better Consulting & Finance placements
Immersions - helpful since pivoting to a new industry/function
Access to NYC
Better Toronto Connections (incase I want to come back to Toronto)
Tepper
STEM MBA
Better for Tech??
More quant focused
More rigorous curriculum
Better Career Center
Any thoughts or Advice from your side?

Thanks for posting and congrats on your admits!
I like Pittsburgh - I felt it was a fun small city to be in. Perhaps that was a false impression as I spent 3 days in the city but it was a great experience. We had a lot of fun that summer. If you can't use TN or any other benefit of NAFTA for your visa, then I think STEM is a pretty big value add and while you may not need to use it, it would be awesome to have in your back pocket esp if you don't feel particularly set on one or the other.
As to consulting placements, I see Johnson and Tepper pretty much the same in terms of % of students placed. Perhaps qualitatively it is a different scale or different area of placement but on pure numbers about 21-22% of the class for both programs.
I consider Tepper a be better program for Tech. It is placing a lot more grads into CA/Seattle offices - 49 vs 23 and Tepper is a smaller program so as a percentage, that's 25% vs 10%

I am able to use TN/Nafta for visa.. I am hoping that STEM will not be as big of a deal for me since Tech and Consulting jobs both are good for TN.. (please correct me if I'm wrong)
For Consulting, I've heard Johnson does better qualitatively (MBB etc).
For Tech, is there any way to see how the alumni base is in the tech industry for both schools? Where did you find the 49 vs 23?
If STEM is as big of a factor, then definitely would go Tepper as I could improve my chances of landing a Tech role or go into Consulting (PwC, Deloitte if not MBB)
