In GMAT Quan questions, could we make assumptions on the diagram 09 Jul 2018, 20:59

Like if I think it's a straight line, could I assume it is a straight line even though the question doesn't tell me?

For example, three points on this line - A, B, and C. AB is a straight line and BC is a straight line, could I assume AC definitely is simply because the lines looks like a straight line per the diagram?

I think the question is in general, should I make assumptions based on how the diagram reflects on my eye balls? If so, could I make assumptions for all (whether it's a square vs rectangle) or some (a straight line)?
