Answer is D : 700 < V < 900

Volume of cylinder is \(\pi\)\(r^2\)h

Given r = 3.4 and h is 550% more than r, which means r = 6.5 * r (if 100% more then it means twice, so..)

So V = \(\pi\)\({3.4}^2\)* 6.5

You forgot to multiply 3.4 one more time (value of r)

V is the volume of a cylinder; the radius of the cylinder is 3.4. The height of the cylinder is 550% more than the radius. Which of the following is true?

A. 100 < V < 300
B. 300 < V < 500
C. 500 < V < 700
D. 700 < V < 900
E. 900 < V < 1100

Height=3.4*6.5=22.1

Volume = pi*r^2*h=pi*3.4^2*22.1= approx 800

Answer: D

As we see the answers are in form of range we can use approximation

Volume of cylinder is πr^2h

Given π= 22/7 and r = 3.4 so r^2 ~ 12 and h = 6.5 * 3.4 ~ 21

So 22/7 * 12 * 21 = 792

so answer should be

D. 700 < V < 900

Question: V is the volume of a cylinder; the radius of the cylinder is 3.4. The height of the cylinder is 550% more than the radius. Which of the following is true?

\(V=(\text{Height of Cylinder})(\text{Area of Cylinder Face})\)
\(V=h(\pi r^2)\text{ }\) \(\text{ r}=3.4\text{ }\) \(\text{ }\pi\approx{3}\text{ }\) \(\text{ } 550\% = \frac{550}{100}\)
\(h = \frac{550}{100}(3.4) +3.4\)
\(h = 22.1 \implies \text{round to }h\approx{22}\)

\(r^2=3.4^2\approx{11.5}\)
\(V\)\(\approx{22(\pi)(11.5)}\)

\(V\approx{\pi (253)}\)
\(V\approx{(253)(3)}\)
\(V\approx{(759)}\)

Correct Answer: D. 700 < V < 900

R = 3.4 H = 3.4 + 5.5 x 3.4 = 6.5 x 3.4
V = 3.14 x 3.4^3 x 6.5 = 800 approx

Option D is correct
