Hi all,

I am an international student who plans on joining Yale SOM's class of 2023. Unfortunately, I am a bit tight on the budget, so planning to take two different loan:
1) Primary loan - Yale Credit Union (Non-cosigner option that covers 80%)
2) Secondary loan - Any private US loan (with co-signer) to cover an additional 10-15%.

Does anyone have any recommendations for number (2)? I know Yale publishes a list but I am very confused not sure how to make a decision.

Best regards,

Bilal Tariq

Hi Bilal, all the very best. Why don’t you discuss this with Yale directly? Perhaps they can assist. Have you tried reaching out to current students?

Hi to fellow class 2023 admits!

Yale SOM has sent me their welcome package, but it has stuck at the border in my country. :) To release it, I need to know what's inside and file several forms for the local customs authorities. Those who have been admitted and received their packages, could you please tell me what's inside! :)

That’s a chicken or egg problem if I’ve ever seen one.

Congrats to you as well! in R1 it contained a luggage tag, hand written note, small flag and welcome card, and a notebook.

Hope that helps!
