I received today the waitlist email from INSEAD - I applied on R2. Anyone else in the same situation? What interactions with adcom are you planning to do, if any?
Archived INSEAD Discussion
Hi there,
You've stumbled upon an old discussion from our INSEAD Forum
that's now outdated and has been archived. No more replies are possible here.
Interested in current discussions? Feel free to dive into our dedicated INSEAD Forum
for all fresh things related to the INSEAD MBA program.
I'm starting this discussion for all waitlisted candidates for Jan'20 intake at INSEAD. Unlike previous intakes, I realized that there isn't a forum yet for the Jan'20 intake.
I'd encourage you to please share any updates, news, ideas, thoughts regarding the Waitlist so that all of us can benefit and keep track of the updates.
Would recommend that you retake the GMAT to get at least a 680; the average GMAT is 715 and so strive to achieve parity there. Brazilians are not quite in the same pickle as Asians and Indians but they apply in large numbers. What is your TOEFL, if lower than 105 definitely retake. Check out my article on this topic
and think about where you land on each of the 4 INSEAD criteria: academics/GMAT, leadership, contribution, and international orientation. This will guide your actions and ideas for the update letter.

I’ve been waitlisted on 2nd round. Did any of you had additional interactions with adcom or are planning doing any moves?
There is not enough data available from the last year. I see an applicant who got waitlisted in R1 got his decision on October 1st. I also see another applicant who got waitlisted in R3 got his/her decision in the first week of December.
Hello folk! I hope you don't mind me sharing, but I thought you guys might want to know.
I got admitted in R3 and the deadline for the first installment/ reservation fee is September 6. I'd suppose you might get updates after that?

I hope so. Judging from the activity in the forums, there has been no movement on the Waitlist this year. No one has posted any update of successfully getting off the Waitlist until now.
On a related note, are you guys keeping regular contact with you AO regarding the Waitlist status?
As I haven't heard about any movements on the waitlist so far, I am thinking that maybe INSEAD first wanted to finish with accepting from all rounds and only after to review the waitlist..
