I wouldn't be surprised if Wharton started giving out the majority of invites on/after Feb 14, to pick up the rejected Harvard candidates on the rebound.
Well that does not make much sense. How would Wharton know who was rejected by HBS? Its not like you can apply to Wharton R2 after you are rejected by HBS in R2...
Right. Not to mention most of us HBS hopefulls were all but rejected today so now would be perfect if you wanted to capture HBS dings. Hell, if Wharton was really concerned about HBS, they would have set invites out before today so people made plans before knowing their status at HBS.
Plus, while HBS is a competitor of HBS, I'm not sure how much they worry about what HBS is doing in terms of admissions. I mean Wharton is a top 5 school in its own right and can hold its own against HBS fighting for talent, particularly in select disciplines.
If nothing else, there should be another round of invites come Thursday. It looks like so far, the only invites sent to people in the US are for the Lauder program, so it's way too early to worry.
