For anyone that has interviewed on campus or is a current student, do you have any hotels you'd recommend? I'd like to be near campus and don't want to stay at a total dump, but would like to control costs (which is a lost battle at this point admittedly).

I'd like to be near campus. I've been to Center City many times so don't really have a desire to explore Philly this trip. Convenience to campus is my main concern. Thanks.

I like the Sheraton University Center on Chestnut, its about a 5-10 minute walk away from Huntsman. Ive stayed there twice now (interview and for a WIB event), and I like their beds (down comforter and pillows) and amenities (computer in room, starbucks coffee and loofah). Im starwood gold and they always put me on the club floors, which I appreciate.

Also - the other poster who recommended Inn at Hilton, is across the street from sheraton. So I should say 5-10 minute walk *in heels*

Hello folks,

This is just a general question..
During interview, Do I get disadvantaged if I tell them I want to go to XX company that does
not come to that specific school to recruit? Also, is it generally recommended if you mention the
specific name of the company you want to go to when they ask about "short-term goals"..or is
it more risky?

Will it be far-stretched to expect an invite today? I know that so far invites have been dished out only on Thursdays but given that the last date is a Tue, I am expecting 3 more invite waves to be given out - today, thursday and next Tuesday again!

Anyone buying my idea? I know most of us would! :)

This wait almost seems like sitting in an ambush site, waiting for hours on end, without moving a muscle, expecting to see a terrorist (a.k.a the invite mail!) walk-in into the trap (my inbox) ;)
I don't think it's far-fetched at all. I was actually thinking the same...perhaps that they'd release waves of invitations this afternoon, Thursday, and finally next Tuesday. Though it seems that they've already broken the mold on the time stamp pattern: a lot of us got invites closer to noon/1pm last Thursday. It seems that all bets are off at this point...best of luck to all still waiting! :)

I got a promotion & pay rise since submitting my R2 application. Does anyone recommend that I do/don’t reach out to Adcom w/ this info?

Thanks!

I just had my interview and did not get the contact info from the adcomm interviewer (HUB city interview). Should I:
- Write a hand-written note and bring it back to the office of the interview (could drop it at reception)
- Get a hand-written note in the mail asap (international shipping) to the admissions office
- Ask the admissions office for her email and email a note
- Chill out and not worry about it
- Something else?

If you remember his name try to find him/her in facebook and/or LinkedIn... sometimes they have open profiles, especially in LinkedIn.

I really don't think it counts! I didn't send a thank you note to my interviewer even though I had the email address.
If it is an alumni I can see the point of doing that to keep the contact, with an adcom I can't imagine it would matter in any way!

So are people thinking today and Tuesday? Or just Tuesday?

Based on Beat The GMAT stats:

R1: 84 invites/ 307 applicants = 27.4%

R2 so far: 85 invites/419 applicants = 20.3%

20.3%/27.4% ~ 75% of invites have been given out, assuming the same invite to applicant ratio (I would expect a lower ratio for R2)

I feel like one more batch of the size they've been delivering could complete the process, but maybe they'll do two smaller trickles today and next Feb 28.

I think they will send the last big batch of invites today... and on Tuesday only those last minute cases and dings without interview... but I am just assuming according to my logic, not taking into account how they did in previous opportunities...

I thought that typically more of the class was filled by R2 applicants. True or False?

Oh, valid point gzyme84.

I was thinking from the perspective that a larger group applies and maybe less invites are given out percentage-wise. But perhaps the percentage is higher as they need to fill more slots. So to estimate a range, maybe 20-35% of invites are left.
