I am an international, but I have my permanent residency in the US. I am not sure how I will be considered - international pool or domestic pool. However, I got one of the "financial Aid information" emails from Wharton today. I am yet to get an invite.

If you have a green card, domestic pool. Otherwise, international pool.
thanks.

Just read the Round 3 deadline mail carefully and found that it says the deadline is March 5th and if they don't receive recommendations by March 3, the application will be negatively impacted.

Was there a similar recommendation deadline (2 days earlier) for Round 2 as well? Because one of my recommenders submitted the recommendation on the deadline (Jan 4)!!!!

Still waiting on Wharton...I have interviewed last week on campus at Booth with a 2nd year student. While I think I have answered all of the basic questions correctly: Why MBA? Why now? Examples of teamwork, insiring others, dealing with your coworkers etc - I did not feel good rapport between me and the student, and while I was trying hard, the conversation wasn't as smooth as I was hoping for.

I just now realize how much of the admission process is just pure luck - I thought I did well, but the human factor was clearly at play...Booth ranks their interviews on a scale from 1-6, anyone felt the same way after the interview? Felt that the connection wasn't there? Anyone got in after a "not-so-good" interview to any top school?

How do you guys feel about chances for Wharton, now that there is only a week left? I am mentally getting ready to reapply next year...

If you get into Booth, but not Wharton would you scrap the whole thing and try again next year?

Luck does play a huge role in it, I agree.

I am bracing myself for a ding from Wharton. I know plenty of people on these forums are being supportive and encouraging us to be hopeful which is great, but at this point, I want to realistically manage my expectations and spend my focus elsewhere rather than live in anxiety for the entirety of next Thursday.

In terms of interviews, I think it's hard to accurately gauge what the interviewer is thinking. In your case, it may have felt conversational to the other person. I say this because I've interviewed many people these past two years, and when I later have conversations with my hires, its not uncommon for both sides to be surprised about differences in perception about how the interview went.

If I were to get into Booth, I'd go to Booth. I am just afraid that the process is so competitive and so unpredictable that it's hard to think that your "enhanced" profile would even get you an interview.

I have applied to 5 schools this year and so far got just one interview, even though I thought that my profile would catch someone's eye. praying for a reasonable outcome - an interview from Wharton or acceptance from Booth. Otherwise, there will be a whole summer of "enhancing" work and that would really suck because I won't give up until I get in...

For anyone that has interviewed on campus or is a current student, do you have any hotels you'd recommend? I'd like to be near campus and don't want to stay at a total dump, but would like to control costs (which is a lost battle at this point admittedly).

I'd like to be near campus. I've been to Center City many times so don't really have a desire to explore Philly this trip. Convenience to campus is my main concern. Thanks.

Hello,

Try the Hilton Inn at Penn. it's basically locTed inside the campus parameter and it's just 3 minutes walking distance from Wharton. You also get to try one of my personal favorite restaurants in the University City area, Pod.

Good luck!

i got a similar R3 reminder email, then 'disregard email' as well
my heart skipped a beat as soon as i saw something from them in my inbox, alas..
i wonder if that went to only those of us that havent received interview invites, and will not either :(
the pessimist in me says it went out by mistake instead of the rejection :(

Speaking of food, there's an awesome Indian buffet on Chestnut and 40th Street called New Delhi. The buffet is run all day and they always have samosas. I highly recommend it.
