Just got an email titled "Next Steps in the Application Process" that affirms that group evaluation will happen for Round 2. It totally fooled me...

The same... Is it some kind of joke from Wharton AdCom?

I think the AdCom didn't realize this kind of "keeping you informed" email adds on to applicants' nerves... :(

So I understand that we should wait for that mid-decision date - Feb 22 - to receive first interview invites? I see that last year first birds went out on Jan 26, and then there were several invitation releases during the month. What about this year?

I think it will be better if you could upload the chat transcript file in a post on this thread itself. There is an option to attach a file when you reply.

thanks

Does anyone know what is the approximate percentage of admitted students to interview invites? Historically it has been around 50%, but there may have been a change due to new inerview format. For example, if there are six people participating in the team discussion, does it mean still 3 people on average will be admitted?

From Round 1, I remember it to have been 40%, which is the same as the historical figure. I know one other person from my interview group was admitted - perhaps there were others, but I haven't seen them yet.

did anyone get interview invite as yet ?
Also i want to know what happens to candidates who live in countries where there are no group interviews? For example I live in Pakistan so would that put me on a disadvantage ? also are there any alternate ways to be interviewed ?

i would appreciate if there are some other Pakistani candidates who made it into Wharton this year would provide any insight

Well, everyone can't be lucky in this process - after all only a fraction of the applicants pool will be admitted. Its a well-known fact that is not disputed. How then I can take your words to my heart if I should discount it at least (1-0.19)*100%=81%?

@mbaover30 - any broad sense as to what % of the total invites will be given out today (based on round 1 trends) ?

My guess it is somewhere in the 20-40% range (I know.. that's very broad).

But I base it on the following (partly proven) assumptions:

1) They spread it over a four-week period and send invites roughly once per week. So, assuming they send invites on 4 or 5 days it has to be at least 20%.
2) It won't be the majority, there are many more to come. So max. 40% shouldn't be too far off.

But I didn't dig into this very deep... I am sure many of the guys here observed R1 and/or the previous years much closer than I did.
