WSJ Posted an article about Erika James, Goizueta's current dean moving to Wharton and Wharton's current dean moving to Marshall 
While it may seem like a demotion for Garrett to go from Wharton to Marshall, he is actually a former Marshall Faculty member but was leading Wharton's MBA program since 2014! That's a decent stretch of time! Meanwhile, Marshall has fired it's previous dean Jim Ellis (which sparked a number of concerns from donors and from students who wanted to keep him). Jim Ellis did a great job it seems with improving Marshall's perception and ranking, getting it into Top 20 US News last year. I guess we'll see how USC does this y ear..... Anyway, Marshall spent 7 months looking for a replacement, so Garrett seems to be coming back to save and help Marshall and fill a vacant spot.
