Would love to get some thoughts because I am struggling with the decision making!
A few thoughts:
- I am planning to recruit for consulting or possibly tech, and I think all of the options I have would get me there, but Wharton and Kellogg may be a tier above in terms of brand and recruiting. My secondary interest in social impact and impact investing, and I think that Yale SOM may be unique in helping me explore those interests
- I would like to be on the east coast after graduating, in either NYC or Boston
- I preferred the warmer community feel at Tuck/Kellogg/Yale SOM, and like the emphasis on community, teamwork, and leadership development
- Given the uncertain times we are facing right now, I think Wharton's brand may be more persuasive and important in the decision
- I have some worry about being a small fish in a big pond at a school like Wharton or Kellogg; I would love to take on leadership roles in clubs and be active in groups during my MBA, and have some worries that particularly at Wharton it might be too competitive or I might get pushed out of some groups because other students are more accomplished
- The scholarships will be hard to turn down, (would graduate with $100k more in student loans) but it may be worth it for better recruiting placements and a stronger lifelong network?
