\(\frac{2}{2−\sqrt{2}}\)
Multiply the numerator and denominator with \(2+\sqrt{2}\)
\({2}(2+\sqrt{2}))/{2−\sqrt{2}} * (2+\sqrt{2})\)
\(2(2+\sqrt{2})/4-2\)
\(2(2+\sqrt{2})/2\)
\(2+\sqrt{2}\) . Answer D...

sashiim20's solution is how I'd probably solve this. The solution involves multiplying top and bottom by the CONJUGATE of 2 - √2
However, we can still solve this question even if we've never heard of the word "conjugate." Here's how:
Before test day, you should memorize the following approximations:
√2 ≈ 1.4
√3 ≈ 1.7
√5 ≈ 2.2
This will often come in handy.
So, \(\frac{2}{2−\sqrt{2}} ≈ \frac{2}{2 - 1.4}\)
\(≈ \frac{2}{0.6}\)
≈ 3.something [ASIDE: we need not be more precise than this]
Now check the answer choices to see which one equals 3.something
A. 1 NO - ELIMINATE
B. 2 NO - ELIMINATE
C. 1 + √2 ≈ 1 + 1.4 = 2.4 NO - ELIMINATE
D. 2 + √2 ≈ 2 + 1.4 = 3.4 KEEP!!!
E. 4 NO - ELIMINATE
Answer: D
