(1) -1^a= -1 only when a= odd
thus here a= Y+2 = Y+even thus Y is odd
suff

(2) if Y=2 then No(remainder 0)
if Y=3 then Yes (remainder 1)
insuff

in the first statment , why we cannot assume that y = 1 so st1 is insuff.?
