It should not affect the prospects if the break is not very long. But for some of the MBA programs, your current experience may fall short.

Hi --
No, it's not a requirement. And schools won't hold an employment gap against you, especially if it's a small one. Use the optional essay to explain what are you using your time for now (which should be more than MBA applications) and have a clear, logical explanation for why you resigned.
