I only used ApplicantLab for the entirety of my prep, no consultant, and as a beginner starting from scratch with 0 knowledge about anything, the Lab taught me alumni outreach, essay structures, insights into what each school values. I spent about a month for 3 MBA schools using ApplicantLab, and I got an admit in the end to a top school, so I'd consider it absolutely worth it.

The founder, Maria, is very very responsive to all emails and queries, and she takes the time out to create personal videos for you when you ask her to analyze application questions.

I also took the profile analysis and essay review packages, and although my ego took a huge bruising because Maria did NOT hold back, it ultimately made me decide to rework my entire essay (which I had already decided was complete) and that essay got me an admit, so it was a tough love sort of situation. I think she's brilliant at analysis, and ApplicantLab is one of the best things I've ever spent my money on.
