Working as a research associate in the venture capital arm of a financial services company, time management was the biggest challenge for me as my work consumes almost 12-14 hours of my daily routine. I barely had enough time to plan things very well. Also, it had been quite a while since I left my education days behind and you know, once you enter your working phase, you hardly come across those quant/verbal logic in your daily life. So, I needed something that would help me from the very basics to the most advanced strategies. And as a full-time working professional, I just did not have time to attend tutoring classes.
For ease of prep, obviously, I started doing my research and used the trial period offered by various test prep companies like E-GMAT, CrackVerbal, etc, and used their free mocks. As a result, what I found was the content that these platforms were offering was quite static, lacked actual personalization, and would require a lot of my personal effort in planning. For a working professional like me, it would have been a very tedious task as I could not afford to give my time in planning, I could only execute. For that, I needed somebody to rely upon completely. Once I gave the GMATWhiz mock and used their free trial, I was amazed by the way their course was designed. The best thing about GMATWhiz was that everything was automated using AI. I did not have to do anything. The system asked me a few questions and basically gave everything to me as per my requirements. Things being in such organized fashion, I was like I have struck gold with them, and I chose to go with it!
Their course addressed every fear and concern I had. Especially with everything being so tech-focused. With covid, and everything going digital these days, it made sense to me, that their course was driven by an AI algorithm which basically told me everything I needed to do and, also told me how to do it! It asks about your weekly commitment and devises a study plan based on your schedule. All I had to do was just log in and see my tasks for the day and I was good to go. Being a working professional who could barely spare 24-26 hours per week, I was greatly benefited by its comprehensive nature.
The use of AI is tremendous, and it personalizes everything for you. Their course provided everything I needed to study, and I could blindly follow the study plan suggested by the AI as it was so intuitive. I also loved the concept boosters as they allowed me to learn specific concepts and the customized practice quizzes they offered allowed me to work on both my strengths and weaknesses. Quizzes were the best part. They have concept booster quizzes to strengthen the topics that you are good at, quizzes on topics you are struggling with, and time management quizzes too with a couple of questions to help to learn how to manage time. Plus, the approach due to the AI was very efficient. For example, when I took a quiz, my performance was recorded, and the next quiz would be based on my current level while considering the previous quizzes. This way, the quizzes were never repetitive in nature, and I was learning new things every time. I could skip the topics that I was good at and focus only on topics where I lagged. Since I only had a month’s time to prepare, this was a very progressive and logical approach for me.
The AI helped me find my weak areas and work on them. For example, despite being a fast reader, I was weak in RC, and I could not figure out where I was going wrong. RC, being my weak area, the AI helped me understand that I was following the wrong reading strategies. Accordingly, it gave me the guidance to follow certain exercises, focus on what I was doing wrong, and get the improvement required with the help of improvement modules. The approaches being taught for all the sections in Verbal were really helpful. My Verbal score improved from V31 to V41 in a month’s time using the right methods of solving the questions and my overall score improved to 720. I was more than happy!
On the exam day, I managed to finish both the Verbal and Quant sections before time, unlike many aspirants who struggle to finish in time. One thing that I understood from my experience was that if you get the concepts and methods right along with the strategies, time management will never be a problem.
Although the course was so well structured, there was no need for any personal mentor, the role of Piyush and the entire GMATWhiz team has been instrumental in my journey. I feel I was fortunate to have this journey under their guidance and support.
I would recommend my fellow aspirants to try the free trials offered by all other GMAT service providers along with GMATWhiz because only then you will be able to make out the difference that GMATWhiz offers. I am sure you won’t regret it choosing GMATWhiz.
All the best!

Great material and structure for working professionals

I started my GMAT journey a long while back, but owing to recurrent job promotions and high volume of overseas travel for work, I was not able to devote focused time.
It was always clear that I wanted to pursue an MBA, it was just a matter of finding the right time.
3 GMAT attempts later, I was still not able to achieve the scores I wanted. I knew it wasn’t a problem with the knowledge I had, but more about the execution and mindset. My self confidence took a beating, and a lot of self-doubt naturally crept in.
Thankfully though, the answer came in the form of GMATWhiz.

The 2 key aspects for me - and for working professionals like myself, would be structure and personalization.
I instantly saw a very structured course that gave me direction on how to proceed forward. The personalization in the course was definitely helpful and reassuring. By having that level of targeted feedback and improvement strategies through the use of AI, I knew what I had to do next and where I needed to put in the work to get to my target score. I’d also say that one of the things it helped me the most with was developing the skills required to look at a question confidently and say this is what’s being asked, and this is how I have to solve it.

I also found the material quite helpful and relevant. For instance, let’s take CR in verbal. Even within CR, there were different frameworks that helped me segregate the question types and save time while solving the questions. And in quant, everything that I learnt, was in a very efficient sequence such that you do not move to topic B, until you’ve mastered topic A. So, this kind of methodical approach helps you become competent and develop that confidence.

In addition to all this, I also loved the kind of guidance and support I got. I studied in the mornings before work. And I used to submit any doubts I had into the system before leaving. By the time I was back, the answer was waiting for me, and I knew the right way. And of course, there was the 1 to 1 mentorship which is always like a guiding light when you’re lost.

All in all, I would say, there are a number of things that you need to learn to score well on GMAT, but GMATWhiz definitely helped me with not only the right knowledge and skills, but also the mindset that allowed me to walk into the exam calmly and just focus on doing the job at hand and crack the GMAT 700 barrier! So, whether you’re someone who’s starting your GMAT journey, or someone who’s stuck somewhere in the middle, I highly recommend going for GMATWhiz!

With self-preparation, I was stuck at a 700-710 score. With help from the GMATWhiz course, I was able to push my score to 760.

I decided to enroll with GMATWhiz after going through some of their youtube videos. The great thing about the SC module is that the approach it teaches is very logical as opposed to merely learning grammar rules (a trap that many of us fall into). The video lessons and the concept boosters helped me learn and solidify the concepts quickly. In addition to the video lessons, GMATWhiz also has a large question bank for practice. The questions were very similar to the official GMAT questions in terms of difficulty and testing concepts. Moreover, the detailed solution to each and every question is also impressive. Another great thing about the portal is that it has a personalized dashboard that helps you identify concepts that need further improvement across SC, RC, and CR sections. This is especially helpful for anyone who has already invested significant time on preparation before GMATWhiz and needs to improve the score in a relatively short amount of time.

Initially, I did not intend to use the Quant section of the platform, but after practicing Verbal I found the platform very useful especially the personalized dashboard. That was particularly useful to me fine-tune specific topics in Quant to push my score from Q48-49 to Q50.

I would recommend fellow applicants to go for GMATWhiz, you won’t go wrong with this.

I wholeheartedly recommend GMATWhiz for both Quant and Verbal. The course is very well structured and comprehensively covers all the topics with diagnostic quizzes, followed by detailed video lessons, concept solidifiers, concept boosters and finally practice quizzes. Moreover, there are lots of questions for all topics across various difficulty levels to supplement your understanding. GMATWhiz also integrates AI within the course to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses based on your performance in the modules and in the AI-powered Whiz quizzes.

I highly recommend the verbal course, especially for non-native speakers. A lot of prep courses recommend pre-thinking for the CR section but don't explain how to do it. That's where GMATWhiz helped me the most. It helped provide a framework for pre-thinking which helped me approach CR questions methodically. Additionally, for questions based on Inferences, the solutions break the stimulus down and explain what the stimulus expects the student to infer from each sentence. All the RC and SC modules are extremely detailed and have everything you need to do well on test day.

All the people at GMATWhiz are extremely helpful. You can schedule meetings with Mr Piyush Beriwala, the founder of GMATWhiz, or with the other mentors to assess your prep strategy and track your progress. Their constant support, guidance and quick responses to queries undoubtedly played a crucial role in helping me improve from 690 to 740 in one month.

Overall, if you’re looking to attain your target score, then look no further than GMATWhiz.

Course GMATWhiz Verbal Tutor Prep

Hi Everyone,
I started my GMAT prep in Nov’2020. Aiming to achieve 720+, I bought a course from a leading test prep institute and gave my first attempt in May’2021. I scored 630(V28, Q48). I knew I was good in quant, so I was confident of scoring Q50 with little preparation. The bigger problem was verbal, I contributed majority of my time to verbal preparation. I was scoring 700+ in my mocks but in the actual exam I could only score 640(V31, Q49). I was devastated this time. I knew my concepts were clear and that I was lacking in the application of the concepts. I stated looking for an affordable verbal private tutoring course to improve my weak areas and after talking to Piyush, I was convinced that Gmatwhiz is the right platform for me.
1. They emphasize on meaning-based approach in SC. The golden rule framework works wonder in solving the any SC question within time. I was particularly struggling in SC when I took the course, But with the meaning-based approach and by following the right framework, I could solve 700+ questions with high accuracy.
2. In CR, what stood out most for me is that they not only explain the importance of pre-thinking, but they also have laid out a proper framework on how to pre think for different types of arguments in CR that GMAT usually focuses on. This framework helps to come up with at least 2 assumptions before reading the STEM. They have also explained the approach in situations where one couldn’t come up with assumptions during the pre-thinking stage.
3. I found their RC modules difficult compared to the passages in OG. But that really helped me in actual exam as I could solve the RC passages in less than 6 mins. They emphasize on how understanding each line and questioning what the author wants to say give a better understanding of the passage. They also suggest to connect every line to what you have read till now and what role the new piece of information plays in the overall understanding of the passage, this way you have a complete understanding of the passage and can solve each question in less than 45 secs. Initially one might take more time in applying the whole process for solving but trust me with enough practice each passage can be solved in less than 6 mins.
The course is very comprehensive and well structured. The new AI really helps to understand the weak areas and recommends ways to improve the same. They have identified OG questions for each topic and have included these questions for practice at the end of each topic. This really helped me in strengthening my concepts and approach. The personalized quizzes and quizzes recommended by the AI helped me to improve my speed and accuracy. They are also very quick at answering your doubts in the forum. The explanations given are very detailed and one could clearly understand where they went wrong.
I must mention the role my mentor Abhishek played throughout my preparation. He had very good understating of my weak areas and always insisted me on using the right approach. In SC sessions, he would ask me to solve the question and then ask me to explain what I understood, why I chose the answer which I chose and why I didn’t choose the other. This method improved my accuracy and I could confidently choose the right one and confidently eliminate the others. Similarly, in CR and RC our sessions were very interactive with most importance given to the meaning and approach. Whenever I was stuck in any question, he would patiently wait for me to solve the question and then later discuss why I was struggling in the first place. He has been very encouraging throughout my preparation and I feel I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor.
Overall, the GMATWhiz verbal private tutoring helped me in improving my score from V31 to V44. I scored 770(V44, Q51) in my last attempt and I would highly recommend this course.

GMATWhiz helped me get my target score of 740

I started with a 540 and managed to score 740 on my first attempt. Though I had used a plethora of resources (Egmat, Manhattan books, etc.), I hit a plateau and my score wasn’t improving beyond a certain point. So, I felt that though all these resources were teaching me concepts, I wasn’t sure how to apply them well. And some of the applications taught were not efficient from the exam perspective.
Eventually, I decided to enroll in GMATWhiz, hoping that their personalized course and mentorship program can help me reach my desired score.
As far as Verbal is concerned, what I really liked was the way they taught us awesome CR frameworks, that can help us pre-think easily. In fact, everyone talks about pre-thinking, but GMATWhiz, also taught us, what to do in case we are not able to pre-think, and I think this makes a big difference since sometimes we end up wasting precious time by focusing too much on pre-thinking. Their SC course was well structured too. Again, the Golden rule framework and other frameworks, helped me find the errors easily! Their RC course was also good. However, it was slightly on the difficult side, which I can think can be helpful. If we can solve those, then it would be easy to solve the ones in the actual exam.
Coming to Quant, believe me when I say that their course is super comprehensive and, at the same time, precise. To help us learn the best way to solve a question, they have something called concept booster, where their detailed solutions actually show us how to “read properly”, “perform pre-analysis”, and finally do the calculation. The pre-analysis approach helped me boost my DS accuracy. GMATWhiz has a decent question pool of 1000+ questions in their question bank and I particularly liked the medium-hard level quant questions on GMATWhiz because they were highly conceptual and strongly illustrative of what the real exam holds.
As far as mentorship is concerned, I was mentored by Shreyyash, which helped me a lot. I used to get on a call with him almost every 10-15 days and he used to constantly guide me and encourage me throughout the journey. This was especially helpful in the final phase of my prep because I was confused about when to take quizzes and mocks. Shreyyash created a plan of action for me and that turned out to be really useful.
I am super happy with my score and would recommend everyone to try it out. Thank you GMATWhiz :D

My journey to HEC Paris MBA

Hi everyone,
I start this review after being selected for the september 2022 intake of the HEC Paris MBA. This is a great achievement I would like to share with anyone willing to read it and I am incredibly happy to get this MBA starting. First things first, let's recall all this journey from it's beginning.

My profile :
my name is ilias, I am 29, married and father of a son. I am a nuclear engineer working for a well-known french electricity utilities company since 6 years. I graduated in 2015 and I also have another master degree in International Relations obtained in 2019 and followed online while working.

I started prospecting for MBA's after my last master in 2019. I quickly understood that the biggest working part to get ready to apply would be the GMAT. I bought the OG's and made this typical beginner's mistake : I dived directly into it and started doing questions and questions, trying to understand the philosophy behind this test. After 4 months of such a preparation, I took a first GMAT test in a center. The night before I didn't sleep well and during the same day I poured a liquid on all my OG books while revising last minute. I can recall such a detail because It really made my day worse. At the end of the test I got a poor 520. It was a shock to me and I knew I hade to requestion all my strategy if I wanted to reach a 700+ score. To complete the frame, before this first try, I didn't even know that I can take mocks to prepare, so I took none of it.
I have let this topic on hold for few months and I decided to invest in my prep and started reading reviews about prep websites.
October 2020 I bought an access to Magoosh website and I started my preparation from scratch. I watched every single video and I did all questions possible. I meticulously started an error log book and set a planning to be ready to take the GMAT 3 months later.
After the said months, I took two mocks and I reached a score of 590 and 620 at best. It was clearly insufficient to take the real GMAT.
Same experience, I decided to postpone my GMAT preparation as I felt I would never reach my target score. So, from january 2021 to may 2021, I did a lean six sigma certification to boost a little more my CV.
June 2021, I started again my GMAT prep. This time I was determined to push the boundaries and be disciplined to reach my target score. I bought the crash course plan from GMATWhiz. I have read great reviews and the price was acceptable.
So during the whole summer, I took part of the weekly video meetings to solve verbal questions and quant questions. My weakness was clearly in verbal because I was a non-native speaker. I trusted the process and followed every single recommandation given from the teacher, Sunita, for the verbal part. I also gave great confidence in the recommandation given from the artificial intelligence program of the GMATWhiz software.
At mid-preparation which was around august, I decided to take a mock : I obtained a very encouraging 670. This score gave me strength to work more and more on my weaknesses rather than focusing on everything already learnt.
I took another mock on september and I reached 660. At this time, I decided to take the real GMAT test as application deadlines for round 1 were really fast approaching.
So I took the GMAT online test at home, and I really loved this experience. The comfort of working from home relieved me from a lot of stress as it is an environment I know.
After a week of taking the GMAT, I received the result : 640.
As it was not a score I was aiming I felt a little disappointed. I promised myself I would continue my preparation but I also decided I would apply with such a score.
I applied to a single school, which is HEC Paris because it was the right program for me in terms of location, program length, reputation etc.
After following all the process, I received in later october the great notice : I was proposed a seat into the HEC Paris MBA program.

This journey is a tribute to all people who feel depressed and think GMAT is everything in an application. My example shows that it is just a part of the whole profil assessment.
I would like to really thank all GMATWhiz team because their course gave me the right approach I was desperately looking for while dealing with the GMAT standardized test. Focussing on my weak part, getting disciplined, having an error book and working hard, where my keys to improve my score. I would also like to mention the great work made on the GMATWhiz software : It is incredibly powerful to spot the key areas one should work on.
Thank you for reading me,
Cheers,
ilias

I took the verbal course and the best part I liked about it was the reinforcing quizzes and exercises after every module or couple of videos. The new AI is also a good feature as it very aptly recommends the areas you need to improve in speed or accuracy and categorizes topics and suggests video lectures and quizzes to Improve upon the recommendations. It is very well structured to understand the different types and nuances of verbal section questions for a strong approach. It definitely helped me improve in speed and accuracy in verbal by leaps and bounds. The huge question bank is a big plus.

I bought my GMATWhiz subscription after taking free trials of a few courses. I really liked their in-depth coverage of each and every topic you could possibly encounter in the test. They have a nice focus on building your fundamentals first and then moving to the tougher bits. For quant, I really liked how they have diagnostic tests at first, followed by lesson videos, concept solidifiers, boosters, and finally the practice quizzes. I also liked how you could practice the relevant OG questions of a particular verbal topic right after finishing it. This greatly helped my learning. Finally, the team is always ready to help- all queries posted on the portal are usually answered in a day itself. The founder, Piyush, is approachable too- you can directly book a Calendly slot to better plan your studies. This course really helped me achieve my target score and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for an online course.

Course GMATWhiz GMAT Prep

Having attended a few free seminars of a different company, I was completely convinced that it was the one for me. Then I came across GMATClub and registered on it. That is how I got a free trial of GMATWhiz and I randomly went through a few video lectures. And a few video lectures of the competitor too, which are equally good in terms of content. However, one thing that made me choose GMATWhiz over the other was the UI, being a software engineer myself. The UI is clean , the AI engine is amazingly good, and on top of that there are mentors available always. Hence I decided that it'll be GMATWhiz for me, even though there were fewer reviews. I spoke to Piyush, he's superbly busy, but I explained him that I was in a hurry to choose a course, because I thought I was running out of time for R1. After speaking to him, I was convinced, and I didn't even need any other opinions. Next day I started with the crash course(I actually joined it a week later than the start date) and then began my journey of GMAT prep. I loved the way concepts are laid out, easier things first, gradually increasing the difficulty such that at the end of the concept, one wouldn't even realize that the last attempted question was a 700 level one. For verbal CR and RC, its all about building ability, ability to think in a way managers or someone in a leadership role would think. Something that they call pre-thinking. It's hard to grab these things in the beginning, but I think everyone should trust the process. Solving questions will initially take time, but one shouldn't be concerned about that. For instance, my RC was weak initially. Shreyyash from GMATWhiz, who was also my mentor, suggested me to take a good amount of time to solve RC. As a result, I was taking 10-15 minutes to solve RCs during the learning stage. It helped me so much that during the practice phase, I was attempting RCs with 80% accuracy within 6 minutes and I was actually enjoying RCs. Moreover, the crash course has the weekend classes. The live classes were amazing with Sunita Singhvi, who's one of the best in her job and is also the sweetest mentor and she takes each and every question no matter how silly it is. Then there's Saquib who knows it all about QUANT, the different question types, the traps and everything you can expect in GMAT Quant. I never felt the need to look at other courses to supplement my knowledge. It was only GMATWhiz and the official content (along with the official mocks). By the end of the practice phase, I was scoring well into 700s. In the last few mocks my scores were actually 710, 720, 730 and a 770. That's how prepared I was. Even when I wasn't having the best of days and when I knew I hadn't done well enough, I scored a 680 in that mock, with a Q51. I finally decided to take the GMAT and booked the date. Again during the exam itself, I knew it wasn't my best, but I still got a 710. That's how this course (along with my own hard work, of course :) ) made me. Without a doubt, it has been one of my best investments ever. I'll definitely recommend GMATWhiz to everyone looking for something personalized just for themselves. Everyone is different and people have different abilities. The AI will customize the course exactly for you. I think no two persons are the same, and GMATWhiz has done well to address that exact issue!!!!
