I attended an Ivy League undergrad (3.8 GPA), and came into the MBA application process with 2 years of investment banking experience and ~2 years in private equity at the time of writing.

In the past, I have been generally skeptical of external admissions consultants / tutors etc. but decided to explore Gatehouse given overwhelmingly positive reviews from my colleagues and in part was nervous about crafting an application alongside a full time demanding job.

In trying to manage a full-time job and other commitments with business school applications, it is often difficult to know where to start. The Experience Inventory process that Gatehouse has adopted is particularly useful as it is not only a “brain dump” of your past formative experiences, but the prompts are also perfectly curated to make you think about seemingly benign topics. This foundation made it much easier to identify the right stories and themes that ultimately became the heart of my essays.

What stands out to me about Jennifer is also how naturally her marketing background translated to the MBA application process. Jennifer is exceptionally organized, thoughtful, and sharp, and she approached my applications with the same level of strategic rigor and polish that you would expect in a high-stakes professional setting.

Most importantly, I could tell that Jennifer truly cared, not just about the outcome, but about me and about presenting my story in a genuine and authentic way. She never hesitated to explore multiple potential essay paths, even if some of them turned out to be “dead ends”. For example, I was struggling with writing distinctly different answers across all three of my HBS essays. We talked through multiple potential approaches, and I ultimately landed on a topic that I would have never otherwise expected.
