Hailing with an engineering background from India, I never had any problem with my quants section and I always managed to score a 49 in my quants. However, the verbal section was always a nightmare for me. I was keen on studying on my own by using MGMAT's and Kaplan's course books. A year and a half of my preparation had passed by and I made a good progress(or thats what I thought then) of reaching V 31 from a mere V 20. But somehow I was never confident about my verbal and I could not, in my dreams, think that I could get above V 35.
I initially ignored all the promotional content of e-gmat that said "Ace SC/CR/RC in 10 days". After a year and a half of self study I realised I needed help and I just happened to click on their promotional ad. And BOY was I right !! I went through their free modules and realised that I had missed the entire basics and methodology. Without hesitating even for a sec, I went ahead and bought their verbal online package. I started out with the SC modules and trust me, I did ace SC in LESS THAN 10 days. My number of mistakes went down to less than 3 mistakes per exam. CR and RC needed more patience and practice, but it did bring out a massive improvement. I eventually started to score V 40 any mocks and landed up with a V 37 in my main exam and score the coveted 700+ on my GMAT.
I would truly recommend e-GMAT's verbal course to anyone who is a non-native speaker and it is, without a doubt, the BEST verbal prep and no other prep can even come close to the level of understanding and emphasis on using the methodology that e-GMAT provides. Not to forget their excellent support team, that always extended their help when needed.
KUDOS to everyone at e-GMAT !!
Elaine helped me quickly identify my biggest areas of opportunity and helped me design a study plan to address these areas. During classes, she was not afraid to call on each member of the class so that everyone participated. And when my classmates or I answered questions incorrectly, Elaine walked us through the correct answers without judgement. Over the course of the class, Elaine helped us all participate more, which ultimately boosted our confidence as we covered the toughest materials. She also covered a variety of clever test-taking strategies, which really came in handy on exam day.
When I didn't score as high as I wanted to on my first official exam, Elaine had a follow up meeting with me and designed a re-studying plan that kept the material fresh and helped me strengthen my weak areas. On my second official exam, I was able to achieve my target score. I can't thank Elaine enough for her guidance through this process.
Quant by eGMAT is the most methodological quant course available on the market. They rightfully give a score improvement guarantee for the course. I increased my actual GMAT score from Q42 to Q46 ie by 6 point when they only give a guarantee of 4 points. And that too when i had only done the theory part of their course and did not take even a single mock.
It made the most difficult of concepts easy to understand and solve question systematically and with ease of a process. No tricks. No shortcuts.
Payal Tandon & Rajat Tandon are the most helpful teachers you will come across on the internet.
Hello everyone. Before going into the course feedback, I'll like to tell about my background. I am an engineer with a work experience of 2 years. I had appeared for my first GMAT attempt in early 2016 and scored 660 on it. I realised just after the exam that I needed to clear my basic concepts before having a try again on the GMAT. I researched a lot about the best verbal courses provided by different institutions. After a lot of research and positive feedbacks on the e-GMAT course, I decided to go with the Verbal online course.
Coming to the course, I really didn't expect it to be so good! We have different sections for RC, CR and SC. In each section you have the topics broken down and video lectures for each of the topic. They will explain all the intricacies in detail. On top of that, they have tests at the end of each topic you just learned. This was the icing on the cake as you could test your hand on the topic just learned. On top of all this, you have the verbal scholaranium which is essentially a question bank. You can practice from the scholaranium in any section you want or you can take a verbal ability test, similar to the actual GMAT test, which contains questions from all the sections and is a 75 minutes test.
The course significantly improved my basics in each of the sections. It told all the details that you should keep in mind while answering any question. It has a proper flow that you can follow to arrive at the correct answer choice.
I would highly recommend this course to the people who are thinking about taking up online verbal courses. It's a no-brainer to go with e-GMAT's Verbal online course.
Happy studying and all the best folks!
One of the key things that I would recommend to anyone who is planning to take GMAT is that don't go looking for additional practice material beyond e-GMAT, which offers a thorough and comprehensive course that covers all the fundamentals required to ace the test. Moreover, the way the tutors help you dissect even the most difficult questions helps you a great deal.
From my experience while preparing for GMAT, I feel that for anyone who is aiming for a 99 percentile in Verbal, SC is going to be the key for moving past this hurdle. Master the concepts quickly and then focus on the application. It’s not simply about learning the concepts, but rather applying those concepts effectively in a test environment. e-GMAT’s approach to SC can help you master this strategy.
SC: Covers all the fundamental rules that are needed to do well in SC. I felt that the SC videos were very engaging and interactive as they explained the grammatical concepts in plain "English". One strategy that stands out is e-GMAT's strong emphasis on meaning. It may sound trivial but it is one of the most helpful approaches for SC, especially when you are dealing with 750 level questions. In most difficult SC questions, you may often have two grammatically correct options, and in such cases if you blindly follow the grammar rules you may end up picking the wrong answer. I couldn’t emphasize enough on the usefulness of the meaning based approach that e-GMAT encourages.
I also benefited a great deal from Scholaranium, especially from the detailed explanations. Because of these explanations, each question can effectively serve as 5 questions (Identify potential errors in each of the options). I don’t recommend that anyone do this during the exam, but while practicing I felt that it helped me excel in SC.
CR: CR course is more about following a particular approach. Unlike SC, there aren't many concepts / rules to learn. e-GMAT helps you master a process that enables you to avoid falling in common mistake traps.
RC: Mastering reading strategies is a must. And e-GMAT's course puts strong emphasis on that.
I can confidently say that e-GMAT can give the means to achieve your target score in an efficient manner. Its coursework will give you enough practice material, save you time as you won't need to run to "N" number of sources for practicing good quality questions, and thereby giving you the opportunity to do the best you can on GMAT.
I started using E-gmat as I had heard a lot of positive appreciation about E-gmat.
I first went through the concepts. Please do not forget to go through the application files. A low score on the application file indicates that you need to revise the topics throughly.
I found the concept files engaging and breezy. Concepts are explained in a lucid manner.
Another tip to effectively study is to utilize the Scholararium section. Not only can you choose the types of questions but you can also the difficulty level. This tool also has a detailed feedback on your weak areas. This tool also helps to provide actionable feedback area wise.
All and All E-gmat is a powerful weapon to master the gmat! GO for it !!!
- [ ] I gave my first GMAT exam without any coaching or without enrolling into any course and had a low score of 530 Q42 V20 and the first thing that came to my mind was I need to improve my verbal skills so after reading a lot of reviews on GMAT Club and attending the first free webinar for CR from egmat I decided to give it a try and enrolled for the Verbal Online course. The best thing about this course is step wise approach to explain things. The videos require a lot of time but it was worth it as it helped me understand the every detail also a step wise approach to solve the questions.I liked the videos for both SC and CR and after going through all the courses my accuracy for SC improved from 45 to 80%. Another feature of this that I liked was the scholaranium wherein I could practice and improve my performance.
Overall, I think Magoosh was the turning point in my studies. It was amazing to have over 1000 problems at my fingertips anywhere I went. On top of that, they were sortable by type and difficulty. If I wanted to practice hard probability problems, I could set up a session of exclusively that. This was extremely helpful towards the end of my studying when I knew my weaknesses and wanted to focus on just a few things.
Another great part is that the problems are pretty similar to the GMAT. The verbal was better (but less difficult) than the Veritas bank I also used, and the video explanations on ALL problems are worth their weight in gold. It's incredible that you can get that much information for so little money.
As long as you can stay motivated, Magoosh offers far more value than any other course out there. There are lessons covering the most basic topics, and video solutions to every problem on the site ranging from beginner to advanced. For less than $200, its an absolute steal and I highly recommend it.
E-GMAT is the best online course that I have come across. Those who need to clearly understand the math concepts then E-GMAT is the course for you undoubtedly. The concepts covered have immensely helped in my preparation.
The best thing is the sample questions that are given after each concept to firm up your learning and the volume of questions in Scholaranium. The level of question range from easy to hard giving you the flexibility of choosing the difficulty level using custom quiz, which I have used the most in Scholaranium to track my improvement.
Another best thing about E-GMAT is the feedback that you get from the instructors, who have been very quick in responding to every query and their responses have been very detail too.
My quant accuracy and ability have improved since I started using E-GMAT course and I have my actual exam in 4 weeks time, but I want to give this feedback on the course so that it might help those who are still wandering about the right course to choose to ace the verbal.
Definitely I recommend to those who are looking for a self paced course with good question bank to practice.
Thanks!
Target Test Prep's product is all you need for GMAT Quant prep. I had used a test prep course from one of the "big" guys. After finishing the course, I scored a 550 on the real thing. I felt extremely disheartened, so I started doing research on the GMAT forums for better products/platforms and came across TTP. After reading a lot of great reviews of TTP, I ended up signing up for TTP's $1 introductory price to see what the hype was all about. I was immediately blown away by the platform. Once you sign up, you can take a diagnostic test, which is based on the score range you are targeting. After the diagnostic has been completed, you can chat with Jeff about which study plan would be best for you. Most of the questions have video explanations and the analytics help you track which question types you continually get wrong and/or why you continue to get them wrong. If you can master the hard questions on the TTP platform, you shouldn't have trouble with the GMAT Quant section. I did as many TTP questions as I could and ended up improving my quant score from 37 to 45. I know that a 45 isn't in the 90th percentile but given my starting point, I am happy with how much I improved and I know that it wouldn't have been possible without TTP.
The guys at TTP are extremely responsive and Scott deserves a special shout out for all the help. Scott asked me to push harder when I didn't think I could. Throughout the process he was available for any queries that ranged from questions about the TTP platform to test day anxiety.
If you dedicate the time and energy to go through the study plan that TTP has laid out, you WILL see an improvement. If you are reading this review as you are doing research on which platform to sign up for, look no further and sign up for TTP today. There isn't a better product out there for GMAT Quant. Good luck!
