Best GMAT course for Non-Native

I had my education in Native Language till Matriculation.

Although later all my education as well as Professional Job

required the English proficiency, I was always having

problem in written english as well as reading one. Due to my

professional requirement, I have to now pursue MBA and for

admission purposes GMAT exam was required by almost all good

institutions. I first start the preparation by expanding

money on MAnhattan books but somehow I realized that it was

quite boring and very lengthy for non-native personal.

Luckily I found E-GMAT and by going around their TRIAL

version, I was fully convinced that this is the right place

for learners like me.
Now after almost 6 months of study, I am feeling very

comfortable with the GMAT and hopeful that I will get my

desired score in upcoming exam.
The 3 step approach is enormous as well as detailed answers

are excellent.
Due to my job requirement, I was unable to attend Live Prep

sessions in time but I am continuously reviewing them and

they also are excellent for the preparation towards course.

To me, this course is evenly good for Native English

speakers as well.

Regards

Mansoor

I am a native English speaker and took e-gmat’s online verbal course. This was the best decision I have made with regard to my GMAT preparation. As an older student with a life spent in math orientated careers, I felt my challenge would be in the verbal section of the test. For this reason and the length of time that had expired since I last took any tests, I felt I needed some insight to the latest verbal rules and nuances of the test. While reviewing several popular GMAT prep sites, I found e-gmat. Reading the description, posts and reviews I decided that because this course was oriented towards non-native speakers, it would provide greater coverage of the rules of English, and do so in a foundational, building-block manner. This course delivered on that assumption.

On-line power-point presentations of the English grammar rules can be dull and boring, but e-gmat writers and graphic designers really go out of their way to include graphics and emo-cons that give a little comic relief and helps keep your attention moving with the concepts. I went through every section presented in the verbal on-line course and attended many of the free introductory courses. I feel this was the pivotal point of my preparation and was very pleased with the result.

My last ‘test’ that included any type of writing was decades ago. From the day I learned what the GMAT was I only had 2 months until I sat for the exam and I feared the worst. However, after using e-gmat verbal on-line to study, my first attempt landed me a V38 and AWA of 5. While I would love to improve my score (which I will try later, as my quant score that I was so confidante in took a deep dive – apparently recently teaching pre-calc was not the preparation I thought it would be, so I am now enrolled in e-gmat’s live and on-line quant course), I was happy with these stats: overall 85%; critical reasoning 88%; Sentence Correction 81% and the low ball was Reading Comp at 68%. This almost exactly parallels my study emphasis. I assumed Reading Comp would be my best and studied it the least. The take away here is to study it all equally!

Do as many problems as possible, use the process that is laid out by the instructors. Rajat, Payal and the entire team of instructors are experts and tell us that at first it takes more time to follow their strategies, but with practice this time is shortened and the information obtained is critical to answering the questions correctly and not wasting precious time. I found this to be true and will follow their advice even more closely when I retake the exam next month. I believe going from 0 to 85% in 2 months of prep, including prepping for all the other parts of the exam which were all unknown to me at the on-start, was an outstanding result and I am very satisfied with the time and money spent for e-gmat!

The E-Gmat Verbal online GMAT course was an excellent resource in preparing to take the GMAT exam. The sheer quality of the overall learning experience is immediately evident in the way the course and related materials are presented. The verbal live classes are well designed and keeps the class engaged, while discussing topics that may not always be the most exciting. The E-gmat course is backed by highly-experienced individuals with a goal of constant improvement. The course is thoughtfully architected, delivering a robust experience that included: Verbal live classes,Scolaranium, online problem sets, and online practice tests. I have already recommended it to colleagues and I recommend it especially to students who feels verbal is tough and hard to crack in gmat.

We Indians especially engineers have this tendency towards GMAT quant that it would be like a cakewalk. I too had this notion but it soon faded away after my first GMAT attempt where I scored Q47 which is basically 68 percentile. I knew I needed something more and one day while browsing GC I chanced upon e-GMAT free-session on Inequalities. I just loved the approach with which they solved questions in the online session. After the session I took the free trial of the course and checked out course material. They have exhaustively covered all the topics and have great online instructors. They also provide a study routine which is handy. After the week I joined the Live-Prep course and since it's been going great going. I can see clear improvements in my timings and understanding.

After 2 months of self-study, I was going nowhere with my verbal. Accuracy was not improving. With just 1 month left for the exam date, I signed up for eGMAT. eGMAT has ONE OF THE BEST comprehensive materials out there for verbal. I watched all the videos. After every concept, there are application files and practice files that really make your concepts solid. I absolutely enjoyed scholaranium concept. I just wish I could have used up all my ability quizzes (I could take only 40% of the quizzes because I had limited time). Also, I couldn't use the resources available for IR, but I believe they're equally good. I got a V39 in my first GMAT attempt. While I didn't get a V40-42 as i had wished to, I was more confident than ever before with my verbal concepts and I could tell that V38 is a guarantee.

I got a 680 (Q-44, V-38) on my first GMAT and was really disappointed as I had put a lot of time in my studies and had gotten a 720 (Q-47, V-42) on my last GMAT prep practice exam. I enrolled with Magoosh only because of the 50 point guarantee but never expected to get at least a 730. I just took the test and got a 740 unofficial score with Q-49 and V-42. My Quant score has never been that high and I owe it all to Magoosh! The practice question are so well put and really makes you think about how to approach the official questions correctly.

E-gmat Verbal Live

I brought the e-gmat verbal course after taking the trial. In short the course is pretty awesome :)

SC - The meaning driven three step approach is very methodical. If you understand the approach, SC will be lot easier. I have been able to improve my accuracy greatly as a direct result of following the three step approach. The OG solutions are a real bonus

CR- Pre thinking or Predictive answering is the backbone of this course. This approach helped me both in CR and RC. CR was my weakest area when I started prep and this course has helped me a lot.

RC - I am a reader - so didn't have much problem with RC. The application and practice files in RC are of very good quality.

Scholaranium - Absolutely amazing product! it has pretty advanced analytics built in to pinpoint your weakness and strengths.

Last but not the least - amazing customer service.

All in all, for non-natives this is an excellent value for money!

e-gmat quant live - Very well structured course

I have greatly benefitted from the e-gmat quant live course. Below are some of the features of the course which I particularly liked -

1. The course is very well structured and divided into modules by subject area. You can learn them at your own pace - suits me particularly given my work schedule.

2. Each course has a quiz at the beginning and at the end. They are timed quizzes (similar to Scholaranium) - which helped me a great deal in building pace/stamina for the main exam.

3. Lots of practice problems ... I don't think you need any additional practice. The part that helped me most is there are a lot of higher difficulty 'intimidating' problems with very detailed explanations.

4. Although I come from an engineering background, I am not good at probability and permutation combination. This course simplifies the concept - and teaches very simple methods to solve those problems

5. Live Sessions - I think this is the one of best features.I went through the recordings for the live sessions and the problems solved in those sessions helped me to increase my score level.

6. Last but not the least is amazing customer support :)

Kudos to Rajat, Payal and team for putting the course together!

Great course- try it out

I started my GMAT preparation at the start of July with OG, GMAT PREP & MANHATTAN books. Using OG I pointed out my strengths (PS) & weaknesses (SC & CR). In DS & RC I was moderate. So, I went through MANHATTAN books for SC, CR & RC & things did not change significantly. My target score was 700 & GMAT PREP gave me only 630-640. So at the end of July I started reading blogs at GMAT CLUB how to improve. Then I came to know about Aristotle Prep books & ordered them in Amazon. While they took nearly a month to deliver, I continued my research & found out about e-gmat. I joined them immediately on 23rd August in VERBAL ONLINE after using their free trial SC files. First I went for SC & immediately my confidence was boosted. They has made the basics of GMAT English really easy to digest. One more thing needed to be specially mentioned about their SC files is meaning analysis. If you don’t follow that rigorously you are bound to lose some points in SC. Then I went for CR. Their pre-thinking approach first seemed hectic but you’ll have the effects in exam. Then I started using scholarium, a great tool to gauge your progress. I also upgraded to VERBAL LIVE later but did not use that rigorously as the basics were there in VERBAL ONLINE. At the end of September I gave two GMAT PREP exams & it was 700 & 710. So I went for exam on 29th September & voila it was 740. So I will strongly suggest e-gmat to the non-natives. If you don’t have the time to read this long story use the take-away.
Take-away-
1. Make your basics right. E-gmat has made basics super easy to digest
2. Use pre-thinking approach to solve CR
3. Use meaning analysis for SC otherwise you’ll surely loose some points.
4. Use scholarium to measure your progress.
One more thing I’ll add here e-gmat’s support team. They will answer your query as fast as possible. So if verbal is your weakness in GMAT trust e-gmat.

How Magoosh helped me touch 720 on my first attempt!

Course Magoosh Premium

As a non-native looking to give the GMAT for the first time, I was on the lookout for an effective, affordable online course to help me cross the 700 barrier. The $99 Magoosh premium course seemed like a perfect fit, and after touching 720 on my first attempt, I am glad I picked the course.
The course is designed around a number of audio-visual lectures focusing on specific concepts and strategies required to master the nuances of the test. The question pool is also great for practice, and the questions are a decent approximation of the ones I eventually saw on the actual test. The video explanations for every question were concise and eye-opening.
The staff is helpful, and any query I had was addressed promptly via email. Also, the 3 month study schedule designed by the Magoosh team allowed me to streamline my studies.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Magoosh premium plan for its value for money, and especially to those who learn better using an audio-visual medium.
