Course Manhattan Prep Live Online

Instructor J.R. Tomkinson

Location Online

I took the online class with Manhattan Prep and thought it was great. Because it was a live online class, you could still ask questions, interact with the instructor, and practice timed sets. However, if you happened to be busy during the scheduled time, all the lessons were recorded.

Overall I thought Manhattan Prep was extremely helpful in learning how to be strategic about the GMAT. On the first diagnostic test I took, I received a 680. My final GMAT score was a 760. I believe the main reason I was able to get this score is because of the class I took with J.R. Tomkinson. While I felt confident in my verbal abilities, I still was able to improve my verbal score by practicing the strategies we went over in the class for trickier critical reasoning questions. In addition, the quant section seemed to be an insurmountable obstacle before I started using the tips and tricks I learned through Manhattan Prep.

Overall, I would highly recommend this program for anyone trying to boost their score on the GMAT. This class really helped me wrap my head around how best to attack the GMAT

Couldn't recommend working with Silpa more

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

I worked with Silpa on my Stanford GSB application, and I really appreciated her thoughtful, detailed feedback throughout the process.

Among many other things, she
-Spent a significant amount of time getting to know me. Throughout the process, I could tell she was paying attention to every detail - she would bring up details that even I had forgotten about as potential topics for portions of my essay or short answers.
-Worked with my busy work schedule to make sure I received feedback promptly and I was on track to meet application deadlines.
-Brought a lot of school-specific knowledge to our conversations. Not only did this make my application better, but I felt like I understood the differences between schools (and what would be the best fit for me) better as a result of our conversations

I felt confident by the end of the process that I had put my best foot forward with Silpa's help. I was ultimately accepted to Stanford GSB, and I cannot recommend working with her more (she is also a very kind person who is delightful to work with)!
