However, she was the critical element in helping me find my actual voice, shape my experiences into a well-rounded application, and stay organized through the whole process while working a demanding job. I was very unfamiliar with the MBA application process when I initially started working with Rachel. I hadn't taken a standardized test, written essays, or even updated my resume since undergrad - and it showed. Other consultants I spoke with were less confident in my chances of admission to the schools I was targeting. I was fairly adamant about going to HBS, and Rachel never wavered in her confidence that I could achieve it. She warned me, going in, that her process was much more rigorous and pushed applicants through far more revisions than typical consultants, but that level of detail and accountability was what I was looking for and often kept me honest about what I was really trying to show (not tell) in my essays.
