I have registered for GMAT in Sep. My current GMAT score is 550. My verbal is weak. Can you suggest me ways to improve my verbal score and other strategies to improve my overall score to 700+ in 3 months?

Thanks!

Absolutely. If you are new to the site I would start here: new-to-the-gmat-club-start-here-130870.html.

I would start by purchasing the correct materials, studying hard, and taking practice tests along the way. One of the best ways to stay on track is to create a study plan. See our post here: gmat-study-plan-start-your-gmat-journey-80727.html?fl=menu make sure to read the ultimate verbal study plan here: study-plan-for-verbal-gmat-98342.html also.

We've got EVERYTHING you need to know on the site, so stay active, and we look forward to seeing you around the forum.

Good luck!

I must say, with a new section, you can't forget to put some serious work into IR. It's hard to say how important it will be this year, but only time will tell. Anyone with any tips or tricks to make the IR fly by, and help boost your overall score in that section while keeping your stamina up? What do you guys think?

Imagine those 1000s of people, blowing their test, and remember that you're a GMAT dragon slayer. You are going to slay that dragon, while all the others are getting burned by its fire. Every time you use one of these techniques, your leaving 1000s of other test takers in your dust!

I don't know about the rest of you, but those words got me all pumped up!!!!

hi,

I just took my first GMAT. Actually im very disappointed. I got a 520 and a 29 en Math and 32 on verbal.

I dont understand what happened to me. Y mi last prep test from de GMAC software i got 690, and I was feeling very confident because i can solve almost every math problem.

When the math section srtated i kind of blanked, the first 3 questions I knew how to solve them but could do it there, and this happened a lot. After many questions that I just could hit the right score I started to get desperate and tried to guess. I was not nervous, I actually thought that this was normal and that by the end of the test i would get a 600 or plus.

On the verbal part i actually think i got many of the SC right , but with the pressure of time y couldn't think in de CR and started guessing or just selecting the least extreme language or concussive question,

I need advise please, because im really disappointed and sad, and i don't want to give up the idea of an MBA in one top school.

It is right that we should do more and more practice and study before going to test. So every trader must prepare himself well to get good scores in test.

very helpful for all students....

I am sure that students can score easily 50 points higher if they simply avoid the most common traps/mistakes and stay cool on test day. If they also prepared effectively for the GMAT chances are pretty high they will do fine!

If it's impractical for you to visit the test center before the actual test day, you can do this.

Look up test centers online. Look at photos of various centers to see what they look like. Read about them, their rules and stuff.

I did this and I feel that it helped me feel more comfortable when I arrived at an actual rest center.

I totally agree with the first point 1. ALWAYS take full length practice tests
I did the same mistake on my first attempt and it was very difficult for me to sit for the last half hour.

Try taking a psychological examination. If they find any learning disorders or even simple processing deficiencies, you can often be awarded extra time on both the ACT and SAT. I got time and a half on my ACT, and it raised my score tremendously.
