5/9*630=350, which means 350 animals are tagged,
now, among the tagged animals, the ratio of mammals to birds is 6:1, which means there are 300 tagged mammals and 50 tagged birds,
therefore there are 200 untagged birds and 80 untagged mammals(630-350=280, 280-200=80).

"5 out of every 9 animals are tagged" -->\(\frac{630}{9}\) *5= 350 animals tagged (both mamals and birds).
630-350 = 280 - animals untagged.
"the ratio of mammals to birds is 6:1" -->\(\frac{350}{7}\) = 50 birds tagged
"Of the birds, only a fifth have been tagged" -> 50*4 = 200 birds untagged -->tot untagged - birds untagged: 280 - 200 = 80 mammals untagged

Total: 630 animals
5 out of every 9 animals tagged out of total 630 animals means 70*5 = 350 total tagged animals
if birds are b then b/5 are tagged
mammals tagged/ birds tagged = 6:1
=> let tagged mammals = 6x, birds tagged = x (since the ratio is out of the total tagged animals)
So 7x = 350 (equate total tagged)
x = 50
tagged mammals = 300
1/5*b = 50 => b = 250
total mammals = 630-250 = 380
untagged mammals = 380 - 300 = 80
