Hi bb
I attempted 4/4 questions from Day 1 and got 2 correct. I should get 20 points right? I am not able to see the points:(

Hi. I see they got posted. However, the system finishes running at 6:15 PST (15 mins after the answers are announced)

Thank you so much for helping out! :)

You are welcome and good luck!
You will get the most points (100) for posting explanations. 100 per question!
You will also get 50 total points for taking 30 timers (that bonus is posted at Noon PST but we may move it to 6:15 AM as well - no reason to wait I think)

Also, for all those who do not know how to reply WITHOUT a Quote button - please also stop quoting the biggest hugest post that has the answer to your question. It is not funny for me anymore. I laughed at first but it is only annoying.

So for everyone who does not know how to reply without the QUOTE button - this post is for you:

Bonuses for 30 Timers

I think the points related to Timers have always been a confusion (and I see this question asked in every competition we host) . Sharing few pointers related to "Timer Bonus" to help clear some questions that you may have -

Eligibility for 50-point Bonus / for 30 Timers

  • You need to take 30 timers within 1 day

Note: The day is measured based on the GMAT Club's midnight, which is US Pacific Time.

You can convert the time using any online platform (or using an additional clock in cell phone / OS).

Conversion of Midnight PST to some common time zones -

    00:00 AM PST / 3:00 AM EST / 8:00 AM UTC / 1:30 PM IST / 7:00 PM AEDT
  • You have to take a timer for at least 6 seconds for it to count in the competition and no more than 6 minutes.
  • Questions attempted using Forum Quiz do count in the 30 timers
  • Question attempted using GMAT Club Tests do not count in the 30 timers.
  • If you take fewer than 30 questions within that 24-hour stretch, there will be no bonus.

Personal Experience: I remember taking 29 questions in one of the earlier competitions and realized this only when the points didn't get added the next day

Advice: The timer questions reflect in your error log. You can check whether 30 questions have been logged for a particular day.

Cut the crap, when will my points get added ?

Points are awarded at Noon PST the following day

So you will have to wait for 12 hours from the end of the day for the points to get added / reflected on the points table. Example, if you have attempted 30 timers on Dec 15, 2022 between 12:00 AM PST and 11:59 PST, the points get added at noon on December 16, 2022.

Conversion of Noon PST to some common time zones -

12:00 PM PST / 3:00 PM EST / 8:00 PM UTC / 1:30 AM IST (next day) / 7:00 AM AEDT (next day)

Still with me

Scenario : You're based out of the IST Time zone (+5:30 GMT / +13:30 PST) and you're attempting timer bonus for Dec 15, 2020.

  • Time window to attempt the questions 1:30 PM (Dec 15, 2022) to 1:29 PM (Dec 16, 2022)
  • Bonus will be awarded at 1:30 AM (Dec 17, 2022)

Hope this helps !

P.S. You can convert the time zones online here

bb - Please correct me if you see any discrepancy.
