I recently gave the exam and scored 690 with Q49, V38. I have made some observations and would like to know your opinion.
That is a little weird. We normally see 690s with Q49 and V34-35.

For what it's worth, these differences usually come down to the accuracy of the scaled score(s) you see. For example, not all Q49s are equal. It's possible that you got a "low" 49 and a "low" 38. That said, I don't think I've ever seen a Q49 (which is a good score) and a V38 (which is a really good score) lead to a total of less than 700.

you should defenitly retake
That's just crazy. Gmat is just one of the many factors involved in an application. We have no idea what his profile is, so what are you basing that on?

I gave exam on 21st Nov. Considering that I scored 680 with QA-49,VA -34. Your score should have been in the 700-720 range

Got a reply. It seems that the physical report has a printing error. My real matrix is Q49, V36.

Hi
That must be heartbreaking, but still you have a good Quant score.
Please share your strategy for Quant and Verbal.

I hope they fix whatever bug it was that led to this error, especially if the same mistake was there in the official score report. Also, don't let this drag the rest of your application down. Even though you are very likely capable of getting a higher score, 690 is a really good score.

Thank you for your posts guys. I am working on the applications now as I don't really have the time to retake the exam and still meet the 2nd round deadlines.
As per my strategy, it was straightforward. I studied everyday for 2-3 hours doing both verbal and quant. I started with Manhattan, moved on to OG, then practiced questions on GMAT club and finally practice exams. The whole process took about 2.5 months. Please focus on time management. I had to mark 4 answers in quant randomly because I mismanaged my time.
