A Nickel is worth 5 US cents = 0.05 $
A Dime is worth 10 US cents = 0.10 $

So the total worth of money in the jar is 20 * 0.05 + 10 * 0.10 = $2.00

Consider 1) Out of 7 , it can be all 7 nickels or 6 nickels + 1 dime or 5 nickels + 2 dime or 4 nickels + 3 dime.
Not sufficient. Eliminate A and D

Consider 2) Remaining worth is $1.55
Let N be the remaining nickels and D be the remaining Dime
So N + D = 23
and 0.05 N + 0.1 D = 1.55
Solve this for N and D.
Sufficient B

Answer is B.

Hi Bunuel, Does GMAT expect you to remember the equivalent of nickles and dimes to dollars?
