Total students = 500
Freshers = 70% of 500 = 350
=> Experienced = 150

Experienced with more than or equal to 2 years of Exp. = 0.2*150 = 30
=> Experienced with less than 2 years of Exp. = 150 - 30 = 120

Explanation:

500 Students applied to College.
Out of which 70% are fresher = 350 Students
20% atleast 2years of experience = 100
Means less than 2 years of experience should be less than = 500 -450 = 50

Only Option A satisfies i.e. 30.

Total = 500
Fresher= 70%
Experienced Professional = 30%

Out of Experienced Professional,
Professional with Exp. >=2 = 20%
Professional with Exp. <2 = 80%

So, No. of Professional with <2 yrs experience = 80% of 30 % of 500 = 24% of 500 = 24/100 x 500= 120

70% = Freshers
30% = Experienced (Out of which 20% have at least 2 years exp, thus 80% have less than 2 yrs exp)

80% of 30% = 24% of total

24% of 500 students = 120

Ans: C

Total = 500

Freshers = 70% of 500 = 350
Experienced = 30% of 500 = 150 (Given only 2 categories)

Out of 150, 20% have experience of at least 2 years = 30
120 students have experience of less than 2 years

Since only 30% was from the category of experienced candidates. Hence (30% of 500= 150) were experienced.

Out of 150, 80% was not from the group of min 2 years of experience. Hence,

80% of 150=120

D. 150
E. 180

C .

30% are experienced.
30% = 150.

Out of which 20% are experienced for atleast 2 yrs.
(20/100 )×150 = 30.

350+30 = 380

500 - 380 = 120
120 are those who are experienced for less than 2 yrs.

You should be able to pick up such questions for applying 2 by 2 matrix..
.................F................E...........Total
$$<2$$.........a.............b........
$$\geq{2}$$.........c.............d........
Total........350........150.........300

We are looking for the value of b.
Now E=500-350=150, and d=0.2*150=30.
Thus b=150-30=120

Ans - C

Given Fresher+ Work ex = 500
Also 70% of 500 = Fresher
Then 30% of 500 = work ex= 150

Now 20% of 150 have atleast 2 year or more work ex

So 80% of 150 will have less than 2 year work ex= 80/100 x 150 = 120

The total no. of students = 500
Freshers (F) = 70 % = 500 * 0.7
Experienced (E)= 30 % ( Only Fresher and Experienced students comprise the group ) = 500 * 0.3

E ( WE greater than or equal to 2 years) = 20 % of E = 500 *0.3 *0.2

E ( WE less than 2 years) = (500 * 0.3 - 500 * 0.3 * 0.2) OR (500 * 0.3 * 0.8 ) = 120
