You can find the second question here gmat-prep-sc-83816.html
If you have any questions post them there.

D) more ... rather than is not a correct idiomatic expression
E) as .. than is not a correct idomatic expression. The correct idiom is as ... as

A) implies that the minority graduates are five times as likely as other graduates to plan on practicing.
This answer is not correct because the idiom is be likely to instead of be likely in
B) this sentence has a improper comparison. If you don't see it, I can elaborate

C) This answer choice uses the idioms as ... as and be likely to, which are correct.

Can u please explain the difference between first three options.

What is the difference in the usage of " four times more likely than " and " four times as likely as " I am bit confused here.

What is the difference in the comparison made in these 3 option. To me it seems three of them are comparing minority graduates to the other graduates. Please explain if I am wrong..........

The man is 5 times as old as his grandfather. ---> # the age of the man is 5 times that of his grandfather
The man is 5 times older than his grandfather ---> # the age of the man is 6 times that of his grandfather

minority graduates are nearly four times more likely than other graduates who plan on practicing in socioeconomically deprived areas

I think that the relative clause who plan on practicing ... modifies other graduates so if you remove it, because it only gives details about the other graduates, you have

OK you need to specify to what minority graduates are more likely than other graduates.
Let me know whether this helps
