hm, I don't remember. But I think that you certainly can talk to the admissions office and explain whatever (financial) situation you might be in. They are quite flexible and understanding. If they accepted you, they also want you to come and will certainly look for a solution. I don't think they will be splitting hairs about a couple of days of payment if you let them know in advance.

Thanks for the reply.

Could you please clarify one thing? Do you mean the acceptance letter by conventional mail or the e-mail that is sent to notify you that you have been selected for the program?

Congratz for getting into Oxford. You will recieve the admission pack by conventioanl mail. You will get 30 days to pay your deposite. In a worst scenario, if you are unable to arrange the amount within that period, you can politely ask the adcom to extend the deadline. Said adcom is very kind in this regard.

Same here, got an e-mail today. No info on scholarships other than that it will be announced by 24th October.

Edit: My bad, just noticed that like you I had mistaken last year's announcement for this year's scholarship decision date.

Hey all,

I received the Oxford admit as well. Congrats to all you guys! I hope we end up meeting :)

My biggest concern is post MBA job opportunities in the UK for Indian students, considering that the visa will expire quite quickly.

I plan to write to the admissions team asking for stats, like how many students managed to land a job in UK/EU region via campus placement from Oxford. Additionally, I plan to talk to as many Indian Oxford graduates as possible - those who managed to get a job and those who didn't. Combined with stats, this will give us some perspective. I will get back to you guys with this info as soon as I know. Will post it here.

Let's crowd source as much as possible to make more informed decisions. Please share conversations or insight that you might have that can benefit us all. With a broad network, we can crowd source more relevant info.

Finance wise - I will be taking up Prodigy Financing to cover my tuition fees. Anyone else taking up the same?

Feel free to message me and exchange numbers, I'd love to have a conversation to discuss similar concerns. Sooner the better :)

Regards,
Avinash Satish
Chennai, India

P.S : There's a webinar on 28th October, 9:30 - 10 pm IST to address - how to confirm your Oxford place, colleges and accommodation. There's a registration link at the bottom of the mail sent by Alex Macknamara from Oxford.

Anyone travelling to Oxford for the MBA experience weekend (6th November)?

avinash that's a really great initiative! Would be really great to have that info. I have a small piece of information to add - 8 Indian students were offered positions at Amazon this year. Heard this from a current student, haven't verified from the adcom or career services!

Nice initiative . Thanks !
I spoke to an Indian student recently graduated. He is yet to find a job. However he said nothing to worry as most would be placed in next three months.

Take a look at this blog for some detailed insights of a recently graduated student: https://goo.gl/uzehrH. He has taken the trouble to compile the kind of stats avi1589 is looking for.

I know a relative who graduated from SBS - will share what he has to say after I speak to him. Also going to write to a few people from SBS who I found via Linkedin. I think it would also be a good idea to reach out directly to target companies sooner rather than later.

Will update when I have new info.
