Hi all,
I am looking for advice on how to boost my gmat score. I have been studying since last Oct (on and off) and decided to appear for the actual exam on Aug on which I managed to obtain Q42 V30 (590), which is my lowest score since April. The scores of my recent mocks are as follows:
GMAT Official Practice Exam 2: Q43 V33 (620) - July 6
GMAT Official Practice Exam 5: Q41 V32 (610) - July 27
GMAT Official Practice Exam 3: Q47 V37 (680) - July 28
GMAT Official Practice Exam 6: Q39 V38 (640) - Aug 5
As you can see there has been a fair bit of inconsistency in my performance on the mock exams. The approach I had taken was to identify and work on the areas where I struggled in the mock exams. I admit I was a bit frazzled during the actual exam as I had had my performance review (difficult conversation) with my line manager two days before the exam. Secondly, I was a taken aback by the score on Aug 5 after hitting a 680 a week earlier. The testing environment wasn't ideal - a portable AC was right next to my face because of which I was a) freezing b) a loud whirring sound was quite distracting. It is possible that I maybe using the above to justify the low score to myself and I may not have been as well prepared as I should have been. I would like advice on how I should leverage the enhanced score report which I had ordered and strategy, timeline to sit for the next exam pls. IMO, I can sit for the next exam within the month considering my target score is anywhere between 680-700. I wouldn't want to drag it on for any longer as ideally I would like to submit my apps in R1.
Also, I have sent my scores to the schools I will be applying to. For me to stand a good chance with my target schools, I need a min. 680. Would you recommend I go ahead and submit application with a 590 as well as date for next sitting of the GMAT?
Apologies for this long drawn out post, would appreciate your input and advice.
Thanks in advance for your help.
