I am pretty confused about my GMAT preparation and about the date I should write it on :). Tried to make it parallel .

I started preparing about 1 month back. Started with a kaplan book that I solved in 6-7 days. And then I wrote the GMAT prep1 and got Q50, V 38 (730).I had cheated in the Quant section by pausing in the last few questions but I still belived Q is around 49/50. No pausing in verbal.

Then I wrote the first 2 kaplan CATs and got 710 (Q49 and V 38) each time. Pretty confident, I started revising topics and practicing questions on E-gmat and OGs.

Then I attended the e-gmat Quant webinar which guessed my Q to be around 46. I tried Kaplan 3 to check my current level. Verbal was tough and I was tired that day so ended with 680 (Q49 V 35) I tried more problems and started revising the practice questions to notice my mistakes. Wrote the first Maths CAT on gmat club.. Result Q 47.
No CATs for some days. then another GMAT CLUB math CAT , result Q50. Tried the verbal CAT the same day and got V 32(Lowest till date).

Today I tried one of the the GMAT prep Pack 1 and got 740 (Q50, V 41) . No stopping or pausing this time and 8 minute breaks. I started with verbal and think I will do that on the exam day. I want to be most attentive in verbal.

I think I do bad on tests which have a lot of hard questions in verbal as my level is around 38-40.

My target score is around Q50 V 40.

I need to write GMAT in 3 weeks to apply for R2. If I write it sooner, I have more time for applications and a possible retake. What would you suggest?

First of all best of luck!

I'd say you take your exam once the later possible since you have only 3 weeks left. But if you are the knid of person that gets stressed out then I'd advise you to leave space for a retake. Otherwise consolidate the awsome scores of your CATs and get that 740
