Hi Manoj,

I had interview with McGill recruiter yesterday and am expecting to get the final decision in next week. Concordia seems to have a good flexible program, but the university and the school, both lag in terms of rankings compared to McGill or Alberta. I am still trying to speak to Concordia's current MBA students to get more information. I have been told by my cousin in US not to attend Alberta as its economy is in doldrums because of low oil prices and finance opportunities are rare in Edmonton. God knows when I will get any update from Sauder. You are waiting for about 2 months since submitting the application. I would mostly go ahead with McGill, if I were to get an admit. Have you decided your order of preference?

Regards,
Chinmay

I checked in application portal. It says scholarship window will be open only after 24 hours from the issue of offer. So I will check tonight. But I don't think admissions team will be able to help me in this area. Its holiday time and people are returning to office on 6th Jan and I have to confirm by 7th Jan.

Hi,

Did you receive the link to complete your video essays? I haven't so far. I submitted my application on 9 Dec. Checked with Chris (Admissions Director) regarding video essays. He said I would hear from them in current week. I think they would have standard questions such as why MBA, why Alberta, career goals so on. There are couple of members who have completed video essays and would be able to comment on exact nature of questions.

I doubt they will be the usual questions desai. Shulich ones were different : 'How would you explain facebook to your grandmother'.etc I'm thinking Alberta would have done the same. :/

I agree with @VijayG6387....one of the questions in the practise video was"Tell me about a dream that you had recently"...so it is different from a normal interview question...

where are you getting links for practice questions? Even after dropping a mail to Chris on video essays, his simple revert was I should hear from them in current week. He did not say anything on video essays.

Practice questions will on the link Desai. Once you click on the link Alberta sends you, you should be redirected to a page (most likely KIRA Talent) and you will have the opportunity to practice a few questions before you proceed with the actual questions.

Guys just now got a mail from Alberta. My application was rejected. I still don't understand their requirement on video essays. I never got any link to complete video essays, my application showed status as completed and finally got dinged without submitting any video essay. If video essays were part of the application process, they would have asked me to atleast complete them before taking the final decision. Strange process.
All the best to others.

Hello chinmay,
I think you should call chris and have a talk. But i guess you would prefer desautels over alberta any day.I got a mail from chris saying that my admission to alberta has been recommended to the faculty of graduate studies and i should be getting an official letter soon.

Yes, I prefer Desautels to Alberta. I dropped only a thanking mail to Eva. I have a good friend currently studying in Alberta, who was surprised that I didn't get an interview call. He is actually talking to Chris over my application :P . Lets see what he has to say.

Are you going to accept Alberta offer or heading to Concordia?
