Hello everyone, I just found this thread and I'm so glad.

I just applied to LBS and Booth, applying to INSEAD for Round 3 and looking at applying to IESE Round 3 and HEC as well.

My work experience is mostly commercial law, special projects (M&As, telco infrastructure, project finance, etc) and the like. I'm looking to get into Business Development and Strategy and join a diverse conglomerate with interests in energy and infrastructure.

For those applying Round 1, has anyone heard back yet?

Hey guys, Filipina here. 26, 5 years work experience. I'm a business journalist focusing on the Asian renewable energy sector.

I've sent my application to MGSM in Sydney Jan 4 and have yet to hear from the. Anxiety is taking over my life!

Hi ellaineplm! Good luck! Heard that they changed the format of the test this year. I took the test last year Sept and I found it helpful to have at least 5 or more mock tests that simulate the environment (computer-adaptive, in-between breaks, limited scratch paper, etc.). The 2 practice tests from GMAC are fairly accurate. There are several other free computer-adaptive tests that you can take at once (Manhattan, Veritas, Kaplan, Economist, Princeton, LBS, etc.) so make the most out of it. Most people say that the Official Guide is also the most important resource and I couldn't agree more. Helps to understand how to answer all the problems there. BTW, what schools/programs are you targeting?

Yes, the test is 30 minutes shorter. I have been reading debriefs about it and seems like the verbal section is a tad bit more challenging than the previous versions of the test. I'm targeting schools in the East Coast/Mid-Atlantic - maybe Carnegie Mellon or Kenan-Flagler. I have not delved deeper into this yet, figured I should get the test out of the way first. If I'm to be honest, my first choice would be a full-time MBA in Darden but I'm not confident I can get in. Took my first mock test and got a 590, so I still have a long way to go to ~700.

Thanks for the advice jiographic ! I am currently using the OG and MGMAT strategy guides. I would definitely take the mock tests under test conditions/environment though. Admittedly, I have not done that yet.

Are you pursuing/have pursued an MBA as well?

Great choices. Before the GMAT, you get to pick up to 5 programs where they send your score reports for free, so it's good that you have a shortlist in mind by test day. Saves you time and money.

Yes, I'll be attending HEC Paris in September.

I dont know if this thread is still active, but I hoping that I would get a reply.

I am also a Filipino, turning 25 this year. I considering taking MBA abroad because of undeniably high quality of education and facilities that they have. However, my main concern is my financial capability. I know that some schools can provide scholarships but I am afraid if it would be enough. I cant ask support from my family now. I hope no one would mind if I ask how do you guys was able to manage to pay for it (i heard i need at least $100k)? or do you guys have any knowledge on bank loans for international students?
