Hey it's OK :)

As mentioned in the above posts, I use the pfs compile by Souvik for the RC, Cr an SC preparation and would recommend the same if you are a re-taker, else finish your GMATprep exams first an then go through these.
I did not use the 1000RC set.

Hi Ankur,

Thanks a lot for your inputs.

Dude...I am on the same boat....Consistently scoring Q50/51 but V is stuck at 35/36. I could see you also struggled with V35 in earlier attempts. Any piece of valuable advice on how to break V40.

Good luck for apps!!

As I mentioned in the first post itself, focus extensively on the official questions.
Solve the pdfs compiled by Souvik.

They should help for sure. Also do not neglect RC.

All the best!

However, I suck at CRs. I just dont understand those questions. I have gone through Powerscore CR and Thursdays with Ron but no help.

I am not ankur but can respond on this.

Plz subscribe to GC tests as they are awesome for scoring Q50-51.
If done with GC tests, please complete Manhattan Advance Quant guide.
If above is completed, please follow Bunuel, our GC Math expert, for more practice.

Hope that helps!

Hi Ankur. Just got around to reading your debrief... You deserve a standing ovation :wave

Many many congratulations for your score. Now please hang up the GMAT boots (I know you have!)

I hope that you are writing about passion being one of your major strengths in your essays (bring it in somewhere, even if you haven't so far!).

Really like the way you quoted The Grey!

Today, you have bested this beast, Hercules! Come the next one awaits....

Yes, finally I see the boots hung quietly in one corner of the wall :)
I was actually not writing about it, but will for sure now ...
The Grey was the actual motivation for me. Made sure to read the lines whenever I felt low and wanted to chuck it :)

Hercules  :)
Thanks a lot :)

Hi,

What was your process for SC. Especially the new format of very long underlined?
Did you use POE, process similar to CR..Read each answer choice independently and cross out any mistakes you see.
Or did you use the old method 3/2 splits. If you used your own approach please share it.
Thanks Ankur.

Splits are the best way to solve the SC questions.
Try to identify the mistake in choice A if thee is any, else move to other choices and then strike out the choices which have the same mistake.

Finally you will mostly be left with 2 or in some cases 3 choices.
Now for the fully underlined sentence, i used to compare the sentences vertically (vertical reading) and then come at the last (and hopefully the correct :P) choice.

Hope this helps.
Let me know if you need more clarification.

Congrats Ankur. Brilliant debrief. You definitely deserve the GMAT Score. Although after reading the debrief, i am a bit intrigued - so many adcomms tell us that any score above 700 is sufficient, yet thats not the realty.

I am also planning to apply this year. After all the hardwork of getting a 700+ GMAT, never know if its going to be enough.

"The minute you think of giving up, think of the reason why you held so long"
I held on too long to let it go, and finally got it

One final tip for the Re takers: Write the following lines on the first page of your notebook

"Once more into the fray
Into the last good fight i'll ever know
Live and die on this day
Live and die on this day"

Some of the best quotes. I love the movie grey. Congratulations and good luck in the future. Never give in.

Hi ankurgupta03,

Congrats on your score but I am really shocked to hear that ISB considers 710 a low score. I mean really; the average at some of the Top B schools in the World is around 710.

As sad as it may sound but 710 is a low score at ISB for an applicant from the IT background in India.
For rest of the applicant pool, it is not as the average score at ISB too is 710 :)
