I chose A

A. The three-block long suburb, with trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,
B. The three-block long suburb and trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,
Suburb and framework and store, incorrect. The verb " has" signals singular.
C. Long suburb with the three-block, with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store,
suburb with block, with framework, the comma is incorrect, " and" would have been better.
D. Long suburb and the three-block, with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store
The verb " has" signals singular.
E. Long suburb and the three-block with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store,
The verb " has" signals singular.

As the non-underline portion starts with the has we need to find the singular word + modifier so that the given statement would be correct.

Correct answer is C

A. The three-block-long suburb, with trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store
-> These are two different nouns so the use of has in the given statement is not valid. so given statement is not correct

B. The three-block long suburb and trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,
-> still seems that these are two different nouns so the use of has in the non-underlined portion is not valid. so the statement is not correct.

C. Long suburb with the three-block, with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store,
-> Only one noun that is a Long suburb with the three-block - has long drawn visitors from throughout England -- seems logical.
with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store is modifier for the Long suburb with the three-block.

so statement given statement is correct

D. Long suburb and the three-block, with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store
->Only the comma is missing in the given statement - so we cannot distinguish the non essential modifier that is with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store
this statement seems that there are two nouns present so the use of the has in the statement is invalid.

E. Long suburb and the three-block with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store,
-> seems that two nouns are there so the use of has is invalid.

The three-block long suburb, with trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store, has long drawn visitors from throughout England.

A. The three-block long suburb, with trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,
B. The three-block long suburb and trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,
C. Long suburb with the three-block, with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store,
D. Long suburb and the three-block, with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store
E. Long suburb and the three-block with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store,

Explanation:
The original underlined phrase, 'The three-block long suburb, with trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,' contains the subject as
'The three-block long suburb' followed by a dependent clause i.e. 'with trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store' followed by a comma and
the verb phrase 'has long drawn visitors'. So far the sentence looks grammatically correct following the correct use of SV agreement and verb tense.

Let's look at options

A. The three-block long suburb, with trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,
Let's keep this for the reasons discussed above.

B. The three-block long suburb and trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,
Though it correctly uses the 'a' much-loved Indian store, it violates the SV agreement as in this phrase there are three subjects now i.e. 'Long suburb', 'the three block', and 'Indian handicraft store' which are plural and should have followed by a plural form of the verb 'has' i.e., 'have'. Also the intended meaning is changed. INCORRECT

C. Long suburb with the three-block, with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store,
Major error here is the use of 'an' with a much-loved. 'Much' has a consonant sound and hence should have been preceded by 'a' instead of 'an'. INCORRECT

D. Long suburb and the three-block, with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store
Same error as option C. Also it violates the SV agreement as in this phrase there are two subjects now i.e. 'Long suburb' and 'the three block' which are plural and should have followed by a plural form of the verb 'has' i.e., 'have'. Also the intended meaning is changed. INCORRECT

E. Long suburb and the three-block with trendy indoor framework and an much-loved Indian handicraft store,
Same error as option C. Also it violates the SV agreement as in this phrase there are three subjects now i.e. 'Long suburb', 'the three block', and 'Indian handicraft store' which are plural and should have followed by a plural form of the verb 'has' i.e., 'have'. Also the intended meaning is changed. INCORRECT

Option A is the correct choice

In the answer choices there is a split in how the sentence starts: either "The three-block long suburb" or "Long suburb with/and the three-block". The latter is incorrect in that it is missing an article in the beginning of the sentence. Without one, it creates an ungrammatical sentence: (without the subordinate clause) Long suburb with/and the three-block has long drawn visitors from throughout England. makes very little sense. This eliminates choices (C), (D) and (E).

A. The three-block long suburb, with trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,
Correct! Removing the subordinate clause leaves a sentence which makes perfect sense, while the subordinate clause correctly links back to the suburb and provides add information about.

B. The three-block long suburb and trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store,
The omission of the first comma together with the use of two conjunctions forms a plural which does not pair with the singular "has"

A - (1) Subject verb agreement - The three-block long suburb is singular subject with singular verb has. The "three block long" specifies the exact suburb we are talking about. Structure ✅️ Meaning ✅️

B - (1) Subject verb issue - Suburb + framework + store (plural subject) are paired with "has" (singular verb). Incorrect.

C - (1) Meaning issue - A Suburb is long because it has 3-blocks but the sentence conveys that there is a long suburb with the 3 block which is nonsensical. Meaning wrong.

D - (1) Subject verb issue - Suburb + 3 block (plural subject) are paired with "has" (singular verb). Meaning also wrong. Incorrect.

E - (1) Subject verb issue - Suburb + 3 block (plural subject) are paired with "has" (singular verb). Meaning also wrong. Incorrect.

Therefore, option A is the correct answer.

(A) "trendy indoor framework and a much-loved Indian handicraft store" are both describing "the three-block long suburb" which is singular, as the later part of sentence mentions "has". There is no grammatical or meaning issue. Hence correct answer.

(B) "has" implies singular noun, but the sentence before comma mentions multiple nouns. Also use of "and" after every noun is wrong here. Hence wrong option.

(C) "with trendy indoor framework" wrongfully modifies "the three-block"."an" before "much-loved" is also wrong, article used should be "a". Hence wrong option.

(D) "the three-block" should modify "long suburb". Basically the sentence is trying to convey "the three-block long suburb". Also use of "an" is wrong, as mentioned in statement (C).

(E) Basically the sentence is trying to convey "the three-block long suburb". Also use of "an" is wrong, as mentioned in statement (C).
