As of January, 2012, eight single-malt whisky distilleries were operating on the island of Islay, off the coast of Scotland. Some have been in continuous operation since they were officially founded; others have experienced significant interruptions. Each distillery's annual capacity, in thousands of liters, is listed, together with the number of stills of each type (wash, spirit, and Lomond) in operation. The typical product of Islay distilleries can be roughly classified as peated or unpeated. The peating level can be quantified in parts per million (ppm) of phenol absorbed from peat smoke during the drying of barley malt, an ingredient of the whisky.
For each of the following statements, select Yes if the statement can be shown to be true using the information provided. Otherwise, select No.

I ordered distileries in A,B, C, D, E, F,G and H.
1. 4 distileries having the longest continuous operation are: B, D, G, H and their productions are 1700, 2500, 2200, 2200. Therefore, the average is 1900.
Average production for other four: 1000,1500,5800,115; average is 20xx.
Therefore, Ans is NO.
2. The median of peating level of peated whiskies is 35 and that of unpeated whiskies is 2.5. So the difference is <35.
Ans is No
3. Two contender for this problem is C= 2012-1881/2012-2001~ 130/11 and E= 2012-1846/2012-1974~170/26
Ans is Yes.
So in summary Answers are

you are the first who has decided to outline the solution of the task - well done!
Mere notice, for the first question you properly selected two range of whisky distilleries, just silly math mistake.
Sum of the first 4 company is 1700, 2500, 2200, 2200 = 8600
Sum of the second 4 company is 1000,1500,5800,115 = 8415
Hence, the mean of the first group will be greater then the mean of the second.
The answer is Yes.
For the second question, there are 6 peated and 2 untpeated style.
Thus, median of 6 is (6+1) = 3.5 between 3-4. Peated: (35+35)/2 = 35
The median of 2 is (2+1) = 1.5 between 1-2. Unpeated (3.5+1.5)/2 = 2.5
35-2.5 = 32.5
Yet, the question asks more then 35ppt, thus the answer is No
For the 3d one, I do not certain that my approach is correct.
Pursuant to the statement: greatest ration of years since founding to year of continuous operation to the present. R = foundation Year/ continuous Year / current Year
Bruichladdich = 1881/2001/2021 = 0.000467.
Ardbeg = 0.000451
Caol Il = 0.000464
The answer is Yes
