deepakv7, Hi Deepak, thanks for sharing your information. 1) Your age and the length of your experience is fine. Your GRE score isn’t really competitive for the schools you’ve mentioned. You want to be hitting a 332 or somewhere in that range, atleast for the schools that you’ve mentioned.

apramay, I think your choice of schools should be linked to your post MBA goals and not just based on your profile. You seem to be on the younger side and perhaps could wait if need be to pursue an MBA. That said, do apply this year. USC Marshall is a great school and would suit your profile. You may find getting admission to Tepper or UNC challenging but that shouldn’t deter you from applying. GeorgiaTech would be a good safe option. It would help if I knew your goals or your budget and how you plan to fund your MBA. Hope this helps!

Indian, male, Engineer

Work Ex- 3 years lecturer in engineering college.
Post that 8 years as mechanical maintenance engineer /Sr engineer in a manufacturing Psu.
Job profile - Maintenance management (procurement, contract lining up, execution of maintenance related activities in manufacturing plants)
Acads - state board —10th 68%,12th 75%( %range was low in my state board as topper used to be around 85-86%)
Btech mechanical 65% from tier 2 pvt college of state University,( 3 backlogs which got cleared in next sem. Numbers don’t look good on paper.)

Extra - several participations and prizes in intercollegiate national level tech events/ competitions.
Work related - 2 certificates from organisation for innovative projects ( some tech/process improvement leading to savings of a few Crs).

GMAT - preparing (cold score 660).

Post MBA goals - Well my profile and experience is related to Operations management (not supply chain). I’m open for consulting roles /operations management.
Query - what are a few suitable mba programs /colleges for me that also provide employment assistance.
PS: I’ve only some amount of money rest has to come. From. Edu loans.

anusharajjj123, You’ve done a lot to build your profile! And you have shown diverse interests as well. While some brands on your CV would help, I think you’ve got a good shot at deferred MBA programs. Schools look for academic excellence, diverse interests and leadership potential. The two things that aren’t coming out from your brief write-up are your leadership potential and the impact that you’ve had on the organizations you’ve been a part of. Bring that out in your apps. And in case deferred admissions don’t work out for you, don’t worry, with a little bit of profile building and adding some brands to your resume, you would be a good candidate for these schools with 2-3 years experience. Hope this helps!

Tanmay1357, Tanmay, on the face of it, you should target schools that have an older profile of people. Perhaps if you have a restriction on your budget, target schools where you may have a better chance of getting a scholarship rather than taking a really huge loan OR consider pursuing a 1 year MBA in the UK vs a 2 year MBA in the US. Almost all schools provide employment assistance through their career management centers. In the UK, schools such as Warwick, Cranfield could be some you could consider. In the US, you may look at USC Marshall’s IBEAR program (1 year MBA). Hope this helps!
