I only have the 2010 edition. I have forwarded your question to Veritas Prep and should hear back shortly.

Hi All,

Is there a separate thread for all MGMAT books. I was able to get some of the older MGMAT books from a buddy of mine. I am specifically looking at the SC book which I have from 2003 which is an outdated edition. How different are the new editions from the old editions. I have had experiences from college when a new textbook edition would come out and have very small changes and I hope I can avoid buying the new books if I can.

Yes. The 2003 editions have been updated quite a bit.

Hi,

I am just getting started with GMAT prep. I think I am hitting a wall with Probablity and Combinations problem.

Is there any book recommendation apart from Manhattan GMAT guides?

I already have manhattan guides and official guides, I would like to know if there is any other book I can follow especially for Permutations and Combination GMAT problems.

For permutation and combinations, the only other book is the Veritas Prep Combinations guide

Also, see this resource: Math Book Project

Also, for general books, Jeff Sackman's Total GMAT Math is quite not bad.

Yes there is an answer (and thank you for the reminder!) Here is the official feedback:

Quote:
In early 2009, we completely overhauled our course books so at this point the 2006 edition is fairly outdated. In addition to the curriculum overhaul in early 2009, there of course have been changes to the exam since 2006 that are not reflected in those books.

It is up to the student of course, but the 2006 books are not the same as what is currently available.

I know it has been said a million times, but the Manhattan GMAT guides are blowing my mind. I have learned so much in the past few days that it is almost ridiculous. I honestly feel kind of bad for buying the books used on amazon, just because the company doesn't get money for the great job they did making these things haha.

bb, great post :) . I had used this thread when I started my Prep. I love the way you have made an 'ultimate plan' and 'hardcore plan' list :-D .I went ahead and blindly purchased the MGMAT guides after reading this thread.

Not sure if I have missed some update( I have not read through all the posts) - has the SC Grail book not been added yet? I am using it and I find it crisp and concise.

Same here sounthernstunna, I found all their books awesome.
P.S.:I did not know that Amazon would not pay MGMAT a part of the profit/sales that they receive from selling MGMAT books and I bought 5 books on Amazon and 3 from Barnes and Nobles.

I think he's upset because he bought a used copy. Used copies are cheaper than brand new ones and he feels, Manhattan deserves that extra bit that he saved by buying a used copy instead of a new one!

:D

The guy got banned I guess :P
