Without the cost of living adjustment this ranking is more or less useless. Canada is ranked the highest for buying power in the article, with the US second. Outside of Visa issues, the US is probably still the better option since there are hundreds of low ranked mba's bringing down that average salary, not really an issue that Canada faces.
Australia is an extremely expensive place to live, and the high salaries reflect that. It's actually ranked 4th on that list for buying power.
