I have a question on transcripts. Do we need to merge the scanned documents into a single document before we upload?

I'm sorry of this has been answered before but I just want to confirm.

Essay 1 (a,b,c) is copy-and-pasted so no need for name or title on header.
Essay 2 needs our name in the header? what else?
Do we need any name or essay number for Essay 3?

Hi everyone!

I have a quick question, I can't seem to upload pdf files on the Booth application website. I always get the following error:

"File type binary/octet-stream not allowed."

My pdfs are closed, much smaller than the 9MB maximum and are in normal Adobe pdf format.

I sent IT support an email but haven't gotten a response... anyone have the same issue?

Essay 1 - Yes.
Essay 2 - That's all. Just name in header.
I haven't included my name in Essay 3. But if yours is a pdf, then I would suggest that you do. My presentation displays my name on first slide. So didn't see the need to include my name again. Hope that helps.

What are you doing about transcripts btw? They gave only one upload and are asking for both sides of transcript. Are you merging the files into one?

Nope. I had a powerpoint and it uploaded fine. May be call Booth tomorrow.

Hi Krishna,

I wasn't able to upload my transcripts because of the same problem... (my transcripts are in pdf format).

I ended up uploading a word file with pictures of my transcript but will switch that with a pdf once I solve the issue....

I was having trouble uploading PDFs on Firefox browser, but was able to upload PDFs using Internet Explorer.

Hi Makdaddy,

Thanks!!

Wait, what? I copy and pasted essay 2 as well. Am I missing something? Why would I need to add my name? I also didn't have my name anywhere on my PowerPoint - should I be worried about it? It doesn't specifically say you need to.

Also, I assume the both sides of the transcript is only if there is information on both sides, right? I don't think there is anything other than small print on the back of mine and I didn't include it.

K found the answer for this from Dec Chat transcript.

Quote:
Carrie: Great question! If you submit an application with missing components your status will become incomplete. You will have an opportunity to provide missing materials (GMAT score, recommendations, etc) If you we do not receive within a two weeks after the deadline, your application may move into the next round.

I submitted the application but went back in to check the formatting again in the printed pdf, even though I know I already did and found in 2 lines where the system replaced commas or semi-colons with questions marks. I'm really upset about this, I thought I found and replaced all of them. Is there anything I can do? Should I email admissiions and explain what happened, or is that a lost cause? :(

Hey Guys,

Finally pulling the trigger, anyone have any bright ideas for formation the activities section?? When I copy and paste it in the formatting is just horrible. I saw previous posts about question marks in the essays, but didn't know if anyone had any timely solutions for this. I would like to keep it in my current bulletted format if possible!

Thanks in advance!

Don't worry about it. I applied in R1 and had several lines with this issue. I got in with scholarship. Admissions is aware of the problem. Good luck.
